I hope everyone is doing great and staying safe during this pandemic

I'm permanent resident just still waiting for Stimulus check it should comes in mail since no Direct deposit information.

Will Receiving Stimulus check from IRS have any negatively impact any public charge determination in the future for permanent resident to become USA citizen ? Stimulus check consider as public charge for Green card holders ?

I saw this but I think it's not affecting us, it is probably not issuing immigrant visas for new immigrants ?
For now there are just no details of what he tweeted. So we shall see...

We are pending AOS, I don't think it will affect us. And again this is all temporary...

There is a thread in the COVID forum that is focused on this announcement. Head there for good discussion.

Yes, there's a thread there, and there is zero need to add to the angst there, unless you're really compelled to.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Hi Sandra

 I have very confusing  question;

My currently my EAD card (C-09) is going to be expired on 6th June, 2020. So I have submitted application with a check of 410$ fee to USCIS for I-765 renewal which they have deducted from my bank account as well and started working on my renewal application.

Meanwhile a on 10th April, my VAWA got approved and USICS sent  me the new EAD card (C-31) as well.

In this situation can I withdraw my application for I-765 EAD card (C-09) renewal? Can I get back 410$ refunded to me by USCIS? If I will request the withdrawing I-765 renewal then is there any bad impact on the new EAD card (C-31) sent to me by USCIS based on VAWA approval?

Looking forward for your reply.

Thanks....

You can withdraw but you can't get back the $410.00.

Goodnight everyone. Do we fill out the I-765V along with our I-360? Just realized that there’s a I-765 and an I-765V.

You have to file out just form I-765. The I-765V is set aside for people  battered or subjected to extreme cruelty perpetrated by an nonimmigrant spouse during the marriage and after admission as a nonimmigrant, the non immigrant spouse must hold  an E-3, G, H or A visa. It's not your case.

Hello Family, has anyone applied for unemployment and still got his/her case approved.  Wanting to apply for it but still skeptical. My case has not been approved filed july 2019. Pls help with your responses. Thanks and God bless us all. Wishn everyone safety and God's divine protection.

You can file for unemployment. VAWA petitioners are not subjected to the public charge ok. Unemployment is an earned benefit.USCIS states:

DHS would not consider federal and state retirement, Social Security retirement benefits, Social Security Disability, post secondary education, and unemployment benefits as public benefits under the public charge inadmissibility determination as these are considered to be earned benefits through the person’s employment and specific tax deductions
