It’s what Sandra says. Nobody - not even USCIS can tell how long background checks take for each individual case. It doesn’t really matter how clean your record is. A person with same or similar name popping up during checks, or a previous phone number being used now for questionable things... any “tiny” thing can make you fall under expanded checks. The Congressperson can inquire every now and then. You have the additional option to inquire through ombudsman. You might have to redo biometrics, you’ll surely need a new medical once your interview comes around. 

If you have EAD, just focus on living your life. You have a pending I-360 and I-485 which give you authorized stay so there’s no need to worry about deportation. Keep copies of the receipt notices with you at all times if that makes you feel more secure.

Immigration is a privilege, not a right. Being able to work while waiting already gives you more privilege than many others here have. I have full compassion, the wait is hard. But try to focus on other things

Your fingerprints are only good for two years.  Right now you are on hold for further security processing.  When you do another biometrics, you start over with background checks, which can speed up the process, and clear you.

Officer: That"s it. I will review your file and you will get an update withing 24 hours.

Me: sounds good.

 

We stood up and walked out.

 

On our way out...

 

Officer: Do you still work at ....

Me : Yes I do

Officer: How do you like it

Me: Not bad. I enjoy what I do.

Officer: I can tell you like it there.  Have a good week.
