@Stillwinning!!!😊  @sandraj

Hi everyone here, pls I'm a bit worried cos I received rfe for my I485 .. It's for my birth certificate, hospital birth certificate wasn't accetped. They want the national population birth cert from my country.

My parent just sent me the national population birth cert , it has my correct date of birth */*/1987 and includes my parents names but its dated 1997, cos it was issued to them 1997.

My lawyer said my case might be denied cos of this, we haven't sent the doc yet. Pls has anyone eencountered this? Any suggestion? Pls I'm worried , I don't know what to do.

What country?

FYI- there is a difference between getting a copy of a birth certificate and having a birth certificate that was 'late registered'. In some areas it is common for a child to be born and the birth is not 'reported' to the gov promptly.  When the birth certificate submitted shows it was registered late USCIS can ask for additional proof. There is a reciprocity schedule online that shows what proof is needed to show birth/marriage/death/marriage/divorce from each country. So you will want to check that and see what is listed for birth certificates from your country. Typically for late registration issues USCIS will want to see additional various proofs like school records, baptism records, statements from parents or anyone else who witnessed the birth.

Late registration of birth is not the same thing as obtaining a copy of a properly (on time) registered birth at a later date.

Well i also received rfe for birth certificate for my i485. My birth certificate was issued to me on 2016 because my parents didn’t find the original one and I submitted that with my rfe response. You should be okay as all they are concerned is to verify your birth, parents name and your state/govt stamp on it

Did you submit the right I-797? are you sure you didn't submit by mistake the old I-797 along with your form I-765?

@Shroy123 Sandra already answered the same question you have now. I just confirmed that all United States Residents taxpayers will also receive the government checks.

Just a reminder that a resident for taxes purpose is not the same as Permanent Resident (Green Card).

Are we receiving the check then? (People with work permit who had filled taxes)?

I’ve seen some question about Fafsa and Prima facie.

I’ve been studying Nursing School (community college) using FAFSA. We need the SSN and the Prima Facie. That’s my second year studying for “free” with Fafsa! I can help you if you have any questions!

Hey is one eligible for fafsa with a greencard too

Hi all. My I360 was approved 2 months ago, I have not yet received any correspondence indicating whether it has been transferred to my local office yet. I opened an inquiry online yesterday regarding processing time and this is the response I got today:

"USCIS has reviewed your Service Request.  According to USCIS records, your application is still pending.  At this time, we anticipate you should receive a decision or other notice from USCIS within 120 days of this notice.  Please be advised that posted processing times are goals based on Field Office averages.  These goals are subject to change and can vary from office to office.  We apologize for any inconvenience caused by delays in processing. "

Does this mean that my I485 is indeed in my local office (the response came from my city in the address box) and there's a good chance I will get an interview within the next few months? Or is this a standard response that means absolutely nothing? Thank you.

So yes mostly like.

According to the National Immigration Law Center— which dissected the 800-page bill— only immigrants with valid Social Security numbers and people who qualify as “resident aliens” will receive the checks. “Resident aliens” are people who have green cards or people who can prove that they have been physically present in the United States long enough to establish “substantial presence,” as per U.S. tax law.

Approval after 883 days!! November 2017 filer

Today, after 883 after sending my documents my vawa was finally APPROVED!!

I applied in November/2017 and received a RFE in April/2019. My RFE was answered by June/2018 and I was waiting for 9 months for an answer.

I contacted my congressman during this time and USCIS told him that my case was under background check so I had nothing to do but wait.

I was asked for RFE twice. First time was good faith and good character, second time I got 3 RFE’s and I was about to give up! So if you are in this situation right now, DON’T GIVE UP, you will be fine! GOD HAS YOU IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND” Isaiah 49:16

Thank you @Stillwinning!!!😊 @sandranj and everyone from this forum.

My office is Newark NJ, is there anyone here from there? How long did you wait for interview?
