Hello guys, I received my official VAWA approval notice today. On the front, it says case has been approved. I noticed that the priority date listed on the front is November 29th, 2016 which is the priority date of my original filingΒ (i-130 and i-485). My I-130 and i-485 were reopenedΒ and denial decision was reversed in May 2018Β after I contacted my local immigration office upon receiving my VAWA Notice of Action. On the Back of the Approval notice, it says supplemental notice of deferred action and then goes on to say that my case had been approved back in Nov 27th, 2019. I am a little confused. I don't need deferred action because my I-485 was reopened back in May 2018 after I filed VAWA. So my question is that, is it just standard to have the deferred action on the back of the approval notice? My second question is that, does it all mean that my priority date from now on has been moved back to the priority date of my I-485 and I-130 which are still current to this date? Finally, my abusive spouse has not withdrawn the original I-130 petition. The I-130 petition was denied along with my I-485. However, when i went and requested for my I-485 to be reopened, they re-opened both the I-130 and I-485, so I am pretty sure my abusive spouse does not even have an idea that her petition for me was reopened. I dont even talk to her so i can't even call her and tell her about it. Is there any direct implication of that on my case now. And finally, when will my case be finally transferred back to my local office. I am in Dallas, Texas. Any body have clue of the transfer time for Dallas cases? This journey has been too damn long, i can't wait to end it. I am loosing patience.Β

@Kersac Congrats!! I just received my approval letter too. On yours does it say Class IB1 on it? Thanks

Trust me the moment you file for VAWA, Vermont becomes the direction! When you go for your i485 interview, take along the i360 receipt notice and prima facie, politely inform the officer that you've filed for VAWA and present the documents to him/her..ask them to hold your i485 until your i360 is decided. Hopefully they do...sometimes they don't..according to some member's experience here...but mine was held..didn't have no troubles whatsoever.πŸ‘

Thanks still winning I appreciate your information brother πŸ‘

@Kersac Lol πŸ™‚Β  it's for self petitioning spouses of US citizens. My priority date is dated way back to 2017 meaning I'm outside of normal processing times, we'll see what happens...

Priority date doesn't matter after vawa approval. Mine is. Nov 2016. They will just addΒ your case on the line in order of VAWA approval. And if your local office is not overcrowded with VAWA cases then your i-485 will be processed fast enough.Β

USCIS takes big amount of time processing these applications...

Average VAWA processing time in normals times without covid 19 is about 18 to 24 months. I-485 processing time after VAWA approvalΒ is relative and depends on multiple factors and the most glaring factor is locationΒ (some states are faster). The rest of the factors, I think USCIS make them upΒ as they process your case ( in my opinion) as nobody has a clue.
