Thanks @Stillwinning!!!😊 for replying ..I do understand that the pandemic has cause alot of delay...my i485 was transferred also  June 2019 after to NBC which I got the notice I now assume my file must be at the local office Hartford  by now...EAD C31 expired June 2020 which I already applied for the extension. ..but still haven't received it yet....I have already spoken  to HR about my situation but if I don't get the extension before expiry date I will be out of a job...this is mentally exhausting and physically depressing. ..I pray each day  to get past  this chapter of my life so my son and I can live happily ever after..

I feel for you dear and your son! I know God in his infinite mercies will come through! Keep trusting..you will see the glory and goodness of God!🙏 So you said your i485 was transferred June 2019? That was the same time mine was transferred.. I got courtesy letter in July..did you get that? Did you ever apply for C9 EAD? Also if you got receipt notice for C31 it should count as EAD extension pending when the petition is processed and approved. You can explain that to the HR..except I'm missing something..💁

@Stillwinning!!!😊 my i360 was approved June 2019 and I received EAD C31 but i765 was denied because of approved i360 , i485 transferred June 28. 2019..  I haven't receive a courtesy letter, is that for medical...I did submit medical 2018 when I apply for i485..

I see. Yeah the courtesy letter is for the medical update reminder..you may be needing a new medical depending on when you're scheduled for interview. On the whole the medical is good for two years..aside the part where you're required to submit within 60days of the civil surgeon's signature! Not everyone gets the courtesy letter though..let's see how things unfold!👌

Does anyone signed  up for selective service to get FAFSA my school asking for it if yes please share your experience I came to the states when I was 25ys old now I'm 29 I don't know how to precede with the process

With what visa did you enter when you were 25? Exactly how many months were left before you turned 26 when you entered?

https://www.finaid.org/students/selectiveservice.phtml "the student will need to show by a preponderance of evidence that his failure to register was not knowing and willful. The term "preponderance of evidence" refers to the standard of proof used in civil litigation, where the evidence for a fact is of greater weight or more convincing than conflicting evidence. In other words, the probability that the assertion is true must be greater than 50%." "The final decision regarding eligibility is made by the financial aid administrator"

https://www.sss.gov/register/men-26-and-older/ Pursuant to federal law, a person required to register with Selective Service, but who failed to register, may not be denied any federal right or benefit if he can show by a preponderance of the evidence (e.g. more-likely-than-not) that his failure to register was not knowing and willful. See 50 U.S.C. 3811(g).

As a B-2 visitor you were exempt: "The few individuals who are exempt from this requirement are those on current non-immigrant visas, as long as they remain on a valid visa up until they turn 26." https://www.sss.gov/register/who-needs-to-register/ When did your B-2 I-94 expire? Before or after you turned 26? Did you file I-485 before turning 26?

Is it going to be ok is i do my medical now since the most recent change that was made, allowed the medical to be valid for two years, not six and if so where can i find a list with available surgeons. My VAWA was approved in 2019, and i filed in 2015. Also, i want to make sure that i will have everything ready when hopefully i go for an interview? Thank you guys

It's always safer to get it done when you have an interview date. It's true that it's valid for 2yrs..but as at the time you turn it over to USCIS, the civil surgeon's signature must not exceed 60days. Except something changed..this is what I remember.👍 Hey Apolo..I remember your case..so how long has it been now since your approval?

4 months

Since it was a short amount of time try to focus on the knowing part of "knowing and willful" https://www.finaid.org/students/selectiveservice.phtml

"Knowing. Was the student aware of the requirement to register or not? If the student knew about the requirement to register, was he misinformed about the applicability of the requirement to him (e.g., veterans who were discharged before their 26th birthday were occasionally told that they did not need to register)? On which date did the student first learn that he was required to register? Where did the student live when he was between the ages of 18 and 26? Does the status information letter indicate that Selective Service sent letters to the student and did not receive a response?" The last sentence alludes that getting a status information letter from Selective Service System can benefit you if it doesn't have such indication.

Be prepared. The financial aid administrator might cite the fact that SSS runs ads in different places.

The 60 days is irrelevant if the I-485 is already filed: https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-8-part-b-chapter-4

It repeatedly says "60 days before applicant filed underlying benefit application with USCIS" The underlying application is Form I-485.
