Thank you. Would you mean your I-485 interview was scheduled? Why is it at nbc and not Vermont or local office where the interview will take place? Thought NBC is for I-130 petition.

It was in Vermont for 2 years, Jan 2020 it got approved and spent ~2 more months in Vermont "waiting to get to NBC". At NBC they do some more background check and see if you have all the documents for your I485 (usually they note you're missing medicals cause the initial ones expired and sometimes birth certificate too). Then after NBC it's supposed to go to your local office to wait for the interview. I know that as of May 15th my case was still in NBC. Meaning it's been 3.5 months since I360 has been approved, and it is still in the process of getting to local office. Once in local office the case gets in line with all other I485s for an interview.

Thank you thank you.

are I-485 rfes common? My I-485 status saying “fingerprints were rechecked or something” after I-360 said “card is processed” - took place in mid April.

i was too focused on I-360 package and evidence. What are main things to go with I-485 if anyone has quick knowledge.

for line in local office - mine is like 2.5 years now so I seem to look to have a chance to get green card in 2-3 years. Adding 2 years of I-360 it will get me to 5 years. Sometimes I wonder if this hassle is even worth it.

Tbh my lawyer sent the initial packages and I don't remember what was in. But the only RFEs I've heard of for I485 were medicals and birth certificate.

I feel your pain... I've been in the US 7 years and still battling with USCIS for a GC.

Thank you - i think there are no rfe for medicals nowadays as USCIS just sends courtesy letter?

yes I have been 10+ years of this instability - laws change every year with immigrants not welcomed in general.

Ah basically waiting for a few years for my ex to get legally divorced from his 1st wife, then marriage case for 1 year, then VAWA 2 years... It adds up, unfortunately.

I’ve never been so confused during my journey everything was somewhat smooth. So I did vawa I got approval and work permit last year December since February I got a notice of actions Saying something like “in order to proceed with my I-485 I need to get my medical done” which wasn’t updated on the website it’s the same file number that was used under my husband petition before I filed vawa. Secondly I got a letter saying my I-130 was approved from USCIS again. But it’s saying I should request a i485 from USCIS which is already pending.

My company  (Amazon) HR is giving me a hard time on the receipt notice as a proof of 180 day extension of my EAD validiy while waiting for a renewal. They keep asking for the EAD card.

Did HR not read the receipt notice?

Handbook for Employers page about this: https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/44-automatic-extensions-employment-authorization-documents-eads-certain-circumstances Do you also have the expired EAD so they can calculate the 180 days? You can also give DOJ's Immigrant and Employee Rights section a call: https://www.justice.gov/crt/immigrant-and-employee-rights-section They take §1324b violations seriously.

I don't like to be rude to call them dumb but I already gave them a copy of this notice and highlighted this part as well and they can't seem to comprehend and it is very frustrating 😒  thank you for the links

They HAVE TO take this extension in consideration. They can tell you whatever they want but it’s simply says what it says “you can use it for work”. I had the same issue. My boss was doubting first but than after she searched for some information she took it.

Do not hesitate and stand for your rights!
You can work with this 180 days extension

Go up the supervisory chain until you find someone with authority who DOES understand.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I know, it is very frustrating :( explaining myself over and over again to them :( Also, I have a question when you apply for renewal of EAD did USCIS let you do another biometrics? Coz I did do another biometrics, I'm just curious about this as well.
