Hey everyone. My VAWA is approved and I got this

On May 4, 2020, we transferred your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number xxxxxxx, to another USCIS office. That office now has jurisdiction over your case.

.....

I never submitted my physical for immigration.  When do I do that ?

Thanks everyone

Hello everyone,

Anyone does know it, why didn't I have received stimulus check yet? I have filed IRS tax return for 2018 and 2019 but still I didn't receive stimulus pay check of 1200$.

I didn't work in 2018 as I was waiting for my C-09 EAD card, so I filed tax return with 0 income.

In 2019 I worked only 6 months and earned less than 50000 and paid taxes too.

So, why they have excluded me from corona-virus relief stimulus pay check ?

Thanks,

enter your information there and get the status of the payment. it would also let you enter your bank information so they can direct depot into your account.

Did you open online or had to show up at the bank? What documents did you present? I tried Bank of America and Ally bank. I need the account number for the new job i got.

Had to go to the bank. Not sure you can open an account online without an SSN. It has been a few years now but I just showed them my passport and whatever visa I had at the time

One of the things i'm worried about is that in 2018  i received a citation ( when i was using my smartrip card for some reason it didn't register, this is for the metro and i have to pay a fine of 35$ it is consider a criminal citation and it is on my record) i have nothing else on my record and i have never been in prison or committed any crime so this is a big worry for me/ On the other hand my case was approved in 2019 and that incident happen in 2018.

You don't need to worry, it will not impact your immigration case, don't worry about.Just have proof that you paid ok.

Are you sure it was a criminal citation? From what I looked up a smarttrip fare evasion in District of Columbia is considered civil with <50$ fine. Prince George County counts it as criminal and Montgomery County can be civil or criminal. Whichever it was- Its not going to be an issue for USCIS, I just want to make sure you dont incorrectly classify it as criminal if it was civil when filling out various forms in general in life.

Crimes that would prevent you from being able to adjust status and get a greencard are very serious crimes. Human trafficking. Drug trafficking, money laundering. If you were convicted and imprisoned of anything for 6 months- 1 year or longer then you would want to speak to an attny about it. A fine for 35$ for a metro violation is not going to prevent you from getting a greencard unless you lie about it if asked. You most likely wont even be asked about it.

Ok thanks so much...secondly, did you get receipt for i360 my lawyer said i wont be getting the receipt...

You may want to consider finding a new lawyer. Every form you file with USCIS you get a NOA receipt for. Does your lawyer have experience with VAWA cases? You may also benefit from a Prima Facie. They are not always sent automatically, some people do not need them. If you are going to apply for welfare benefits or fasfa school aid you will need a Prima Facie.

Hi everyone. I have been trying to open a bank account but kept being denied. I don’t know if it has to do with not having a green card yet. I don’t have any utility bill in my name because i live with a friend.

There is at least a dozen banks that will open accounts for people who are not citizens OR permanent residents, even for those with no social security numbers. Most banks require a photo ID (passport) a SSN or ITIN number if you dont have a SSN, and proof of residence. You seem to be having trouble with proving residence. Banks can accept utility bills (which you dont have) OR signed rental agreements. Go to a bank in person and see what else they would accept for proof of residence since you dont have a utility bill. Many times you can not open an account like this online and need to do it in person at the branch.

I think an answer to this was already posted- but wait for your interview letter to do the medical because the medical is only good for 60 days. You dont want to pay to do the medical and then have to pay to redo it because it can take a long time to get an interview. Congrats on your approval!

I saw some people here reporting that they got I485 automatically approved without an interview.
The question is - was it instant approval after VAWA gets approved or anyway you have to wait in line for whatever time after Vawa approval ? How does this work?

It is rare to get approved for the 485 with no interview when its VAWA. But yes, if they decide to waive your interview it would be after you waited in line. Basically the 360 gets approved and then your 485 gets sent to the local office. It will sit there in a pile until they get to it. When they get to it they can decide to schedule your interview or approve it with no interview. Its also important to note that things can change at any time. USCIS is constantly looking at workloads and making adjustments. In theory they could decide to waive interviews and do a massive approval of pending cases but I havent read anything suggesting they intend to do that.
