Hi all,

 

I hope you all are hanging in there. Great to see that applications are still moving despite everything.

 

I have a pending Vawa application (filed March 2019) and I just received 6 month RTF renewal. My EAD and AP combo card is expiring in August (the one related to pending I-485).  I was getting the renewal documents together, but a bit unsure what to include. Does this list look good?

 

Advance Parole:

• Form I-131
• Copy of I-797, receipt of filing I-485
• Form G-1145
• 2 photos
• Copy of my passport pages (only the main pages and pages with stamps, right?)
• Copy of my Form I-94 (Can't access because of pending Wava)

EAD

 

• Form I-765
• Copy of I-797, receipt of filing I-485
• Form G-1145
• 2 photos
• Copy of my passport pages (only the main pages and pages with stamps, right?)
• Copy of current EAD and AP combo card, front and back

What do you mean? You received a notice of action in 3-5 days after sending your renewal? I didn’t get mine for 2 months. I just sent my renewal application a week ago.

Thank you so much! I think the ambudsman helped because it was exactly three weeks ago that I asked for their assistance about why my case was taking so long and today I got approved. Thank you for advising me to ask for their assistance

Passport pages are not required. but it's good to attach them as well.. make sure to include category c09 on form I765

This the cover letter I used. 

 

Sub: Renewal Application for Employment Authorization Document - I-485 Pending 

 

Dear Sir/Madam,

 

My Adjustment of Status (I-485, Receipt #xxxxxx) application is pending.

I am enclosing the following documents in support of my renewal application for EAD:

 

- Form G-1145 (eNotification)

- Form I-912 Request for Fee Waiver 

- Supporting Documents for Fee Waiver 

- Completed form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization

- Copy of I-797C, Notice of Action, receipt of filing I-485

- Copy of previously approved Employment Authorization Card

- 2 color photographs (A# lightly printed in the back)

- Copy of passport

On May 4, 2020, we transferred your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number xxxxxxx, to another USCIS office. That office now has jurisdiction over your case. 

 

.....

 

I never submitted my physical for immigration.  When do I do that ?

• I mean regular mail like just correspondence takes months to appear (I sent them 2 mail just adding docs to my Vawa or regarding my I485) and it took even 4 months to appear that they received it. But with submitting a case it should be different because what yours receipt date then ? You know ...

I saw some people here reporting that they got I485 automatically approved without an interview.
The question is - was it instant approval after VAWA gets approved or anyway you have to wait in line for whatever time after Vawa approval ? How does this work?
