Hi everyone...

My I360 was approved in January 2020

I got my c31 EAD in January 2020

I got an official I360 approval letter in March 2020

After these, I haven’t heard anything. Should I contact someone to follow up or do you guys think I should wait more? I don’t know if my file is in Vermont or NBC or local office...

I also got approved January 2020, got my courtesy letter about 10 days ago. You can probably contact your congressman to check on your I485.

Good afternoon VJ family, I hope everyone has an amazing day, and also i wanna say happy Mother's Day to all those moms.

I wanna ask you something personal and hope you can advise me. How do you deal with anxiety, with the fear of what can happen or with the option of getting your I-485 denied, how do you manage all the unknown and all that fear and even how have you overcome the abuse, i mean im still trying to overcome what happens and move forward but to be honest i don't know what will happen if my I-485 gets denied. I know that i may sound pathetic or stupid but since i have filed in 2015, i have been in a constant battle with everything that i mentioned, and even tho my I-360 got approved and all I'm waiting is my AOS i still have a lot of worries.

Once again i wanna say thank you,  to every single one of you, for your support and guidance and for always being there for each other.

God bless all of the wonderful people here. I have been a wife of a us citizen who has been abusive to me. I-130 and I-485 were filed and currently waiting. I am considering to file for Vawa as cannot bear him anymore. He is a very mean person to me. If I file I-360 form my friend told me I can use priority date from I-130 so that uscis will review I-360 quicker. Is it possible and how is it helpful to make the process go quicker?

You use priority date just if your spouse is a green card holder. There is no way to make the process quicker. The VAWA adjudication is taking between 16/19 months.

@sandranj and other members,

My work permit is pending since july 10th of last year. I reached out to my senator and today i received this response from my senator. Does anyone know what that means? what other investigation they would be doing? any idea?

Thank you for your inquiry regarding this constituent's immigration matter. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) records confirm that your constituent's case is pending at this time. USCIS is committed to adjudicating immigration benefits in a timely and efficient manner while also ensuring public safety, national security and compliance with all relevant directives. While the processing steps for most applications or petitions are completed quickly, a small percentage of cases involve unresolved issues that may result in adjudication delays. For example, if our review reveals an issue that may impact an individual's eligibility for the requested immigration benefit, further inquiry is needed. The inquiry may include an additional interview and/or contact with another agency for updates or more comprehensive information.

We are unable to determine at this time when the review process for the case will be completed. USCIS will issue a decision on your constituent's case once certain issues are resolved. We are striving to resolve these issues as soon as possible."

They are still doing background check. You just have to wait.

You can ask to inquire on the status of your I485, it's very simple. Just call, say you have an immigration question, and they will walk you through it.

I really feel you, I get that anxiety as well. Please don't feel bad if you need to visit a doctor to talk about it, most people find it very helpful and it should be covered by insurance if you have one. Also speaking objectively, there is really no reason for them to deny your I485 unless you do/did anything seriously illegal (criminal record, drug possession and stuff like that). Otherwise you know it will happen, just have to wait a few more months.

If you are going to send photographs you should print them with date stamps if possible. You also want to include a description (date, people in it, place, etc), its best to do this by printing a few pictures per page and handwriting underneath. You can write on the back of each photo but sometimes people have done that and USCIS didnt flip it over and see it was written on on the back.  You can also mark each picture with a letter like exhibit A, B, C etc and refer to them in your affidavit. Ex- In your affidavit you talk about a trip you took and refer them to look at picture A you attached.

Your goal is to make it as easy to follow as you

@villanelle thank you for giving time to answer my question. So I have to print photos and attach to a paper and handwrite captions from the picture? I just wanna make it clear as how I understood.

Yes, you can do it that way.

If you're able to arrange to print, say, 2 or 4 photos to a page and type or write captions beneath each photo, it might be a little easier.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

@TboneTX thank you.

I have another question...since my I130 and I485 was denied because he withdrew the petition and I did not appear on the date of the interview, he asked me not to appear coz  he will not appear too, I received a denial letter. It also said in the letter that they might forward me for removal proceedings....is there anybody here experience the same way? How long will I know and how will I know if I am on removal proceeding list.
