My VAWA was approved 10 months ago and the online case went through the same steps as your one... also my I-485 is from 2016 and last week they sent me to do the biometrics again... I was very confused till I found out that biometrics are good for 15 months... so just be patient... it is coming soon!!!

I have never been arrested in any country, my name is not common, I have only 3 complete namesakes in my home country and 2 in the USA, according to the white pages. None of them are felons. It's just vawa petition, not AOS. The Congressman said they informed him that it was "routine" background check. Can I hope that it means that they aren't digging too deep and it'll be over soon? Also, I can't understand, why when I sent them yet another I-765 , in a week, my online I-360 status changed from approved to "on 22 January we received your correspondence for Form I-360... We are reviewing your correspondence and..I didn't send them any correspondence concerning my I-360 petition. VSC has never asked me for bio or fingerprints.

Being stuck in background checks come from several issues.  Since your last fingerprints were in 2016, it can be anything.  When you are in background checks, they place your info in a file and then they have to conduct further checks.  There is no timeframe when further checks are to be completed by.

Unknown to me, my pinky finger did not scan, and I was in background checks for two years.  It was not until I filed with ombudsman who stated that biometrics needed to be redone, as they were now expired.  I went for another biometrics appt.  With the updated fingerprint system, they can now tell when a finger does not read, the officer corrected the issue in my fingerprints, and I was cleared with no problems.

Hey Friends

Is a new note on the I-485 Form, New adjustment of status applicant don't need to file form I-864W (Request for Exemption of affidavit of support) anymore all the information will be collected on the new I-485 form.

NOTE: Form I-485 is now used to collect information previously collected on Form I-864W, Request for Exemption for Intending Immigrant’s Affidavit of Support. Adjustment applicants no longer need to file Form I-864W.

 i received a huge RFE 429571255_ScreenShot2020-03-04at8_16_32AM.thumb.jpg.f7a6ae934a65a2c780a138507f25590d.jpg1660373188_ScreenShot2020-03-04at8_17_07AM.thumb.jpg.4b129be9064083d471cc6b65a775b788.jpg

The RFE itself gives you enough clues what is lacking and how to go about it. USCIS needs details and not sketchy explanations. You are going to have to write in detail your relationship with your wife..the courtship may have been brief or non existent..you have to explain why. The third parties need to write again..this time like yours..in DETAIL. USCIS is not satisfied that they only attended the wedding. Anyone can get married..the intention is what's in question. Explain it away. If you have more evidence as mentioned by USCIS, please provide them. If not, explain why. Resubmit the photographs, this time thoroughly explain what's going on and who's in the photos..don't assume they know..they haven't met you before. From the looks of this RFE, if you do not have more evidence, a very detailed affidavit from you and your witnesses might be your strength! Go for it! Goodluck..Praying for you!🙏

If so, then nice. Just that I was never asked to go for anyother biometrics since 2017 considering you said it's good for only 15 months!💁 anyways I hope you get scheduled real soon. Good luck dear and Godbless!🙏

Hi everyone! I have a question in reference to my mother.

To start her history is this:

She EWI in 1997. At some point before that she came over with a fake passport but was caught at the airport here in the US, held, & sent back. When she EWI in 1997 she was caught at the border but the officers let her & I go. The history as far as being fingerprinted & what not isn’t super clear (we will be requesting a FOIA soon) my question is.. her VAWA was approved two years ago, this year we will be renewing her work authorization for the 2nd time. Can she apply for a greencard even though she may have a record of multiple entries under her belt? I’ve done a ton of research & I know that VAWA forgives EWI but I can’t find something more specific as far as multiple EWI & yes I know every case is different I’m just wondering if anyone has any experience with this. Also, I’m trying to get her to see a lawyer but I think she’s very scared to go. Thank you so much any information would be amazing.

Hi everyone,

What do you guys think about using AP while waiting for an AOS interview? My case was approved mid January 2020, I got my c31 EAD but other than that nothing yet. My current AP expires in May. And my dad is dealing with cancer and going through chemotheraphy.  Idk if I should go see him before my AP expires. Even if I apply for a new AP I think it may be risky to leave the country after May. They may send me a notice or anything. And if everything goes well and I get my GC it won't be before the end of this year probably.

I went to see my dad last December after he had his first surgery but I just feel bad not being able to support him during this time.

What do you guys think? Is it safe to travel with an almost expired AP while waiting for an AOS interview? I'm thinking about a trip in early April since my current AP expires on 5/9/2010.

@sandranj  @Stillwinning!!!😊 I'd really appreciate your thoughts about this...
