We filed my brother's N600 a year ago. I made an inquiry with the Minneapolis field office and finally got a response today.

Our records show that your N-600 application is currently under extended review,  pending adjudication. We regret that we are unable to provide you with a completion date at this time. We apologize for the delay.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Is that the response word for word or are you paraphrasing? If it is an exact quote from the response, I would take it as literally as possible.

It's pending adjudication and, having been a year since application was made, it is outside the published processing time frame for Minneapolis, hence the "extended review."

Maybe time for you to seek help from your local politicians.

My brother has a Nigerian passport and has gone to do biometrics. we've submitted all irrefutable evidence and even volunteered that we're willing to do a DNA test for him and my dad. Just don't understand why it's taking so freaking long.

I meant, does he have a US passport. The evidence is the same for both, and passports take much faster, a passport is a few weeks, N600 as you know is months on end. Why haven’t you applied for a US passport? What is the basis for claiming citizenship?

We're in a different situation than a passport permits. We were told to file an n600 by the USCIS. Don't feel like going through all the deets again but we're filing what we're supposed to file.

Ok then

i would then guess that whatever is so complicated that you can’t file for a passport is what is causing the extended review.

I read in another thread by this OP where you correctly guessed it was a case of CRBA not being filed in time. So CCA of 2000 may not exactly be applicable due to 1 or more of the 4 conditions missing.

It still doesn’t make sense to me why that means they can do n600 but not passport, evidence required is the same for both, but as OP made clear he doesn’t want to discuss it I’m not going to waste time on it either. It does however illuminate why it is taking so much longer than usual.... and obvious complicating factors like that really should be mentioned in the first post of a thread like this rather than being dragged out of the poster.

There was a lot more detail in that other thread so I understand why OP is reluctant to re-post all here. Or maybe it was just a rhetorical question?

Who really knows the internals of USCIS case processing. This case though is taking longer than Minneapolis processing time so time to call Amy Klobuchar or Ilhan Omar.

Good luck OP

Who knows, I don't have time to go re-read all the past threads of everyone I respond to.

I think it's kind of obvious that more complicated cases will take longer, but agree that going via a senator is next step if OP is dissatisfied with the response he got from USCIS.

LoL. That accusation came from out of state dark money during her election campaign. She still won.

Anyone can be accused of anything but without proof, the accuser just looks like a fool.

Also, she's a United States congresswoman. There's a little bit of vetting that goes with that title.

But we're digressing here. OP can call Klobuchar if that makes you feel a little better. :)

Amazes me both the lies people plant, and how ready people are to believe them. I don't like her one bit, but I don't for a minute believe that accusation any more than pizzagate or anything else that comes out of the alt right sphere. anyway as above - we digress.
