We just received a letter from uscis indicating that I would need to get the 'certificate of making interim judgement final' from the family justice court.

My first marriage was under muslim law and thus it was under the jurisdiction of the shariah court. So when I had my divorce finalised. It was also done in the shariah court.

I submitted my divorce decree as an evidence however they require me to get the above document.

It is unlikely that I would be given the above document even if I asked for it as the family justice court did not preside over my first marriage.

I have contacted relevant parties and am awaiting a response.

Just wondering if anyone has faced anything like this before? Please share.. would be really thankful to hear from someone..

Muslim marriages are registered under Islamic Shariah Law.  Muslims may obtain marriage certificates from the Registrar, Registry of Muslim Marriage (ROMM) at 7 Canning Rise, Singapore 179869, phone number 65-6337-0207. For further information, please see romm.gov.sg.

Some churches and religious organizations issue their own marriage certificates. However, these are not valid unless accompanied by either a civil marriage certificate issued by the ROM or a Muslim marriage certificate issued by the ROMM.

Did you try checking the civil reciprocity tables? in there, it may say which department of agency is responsible to issue the document they're requesting.

Yes we checked.

Already emailed the relevant department.

The answer is still lingering ..

Also because they r 2 different courts.

Hi! thanks for your response.

I submitted the Order of Court (Decree Nisi) from the Shariah Court of Singapore and this document is actually similar to the 'Certificate of making interim judgement final'

Will the submission of the Certificate of Divorce from the Shariah Court aid in this proceeding?

I"m not a 100% percent that is what they are looking for but you'll have to wait and see. Best of luck to you. Keep in mind if this comes up at the interview I would have a copy of the page that I had referred you to so that you can present the same to the interviewing CO.
