Only one person goes through this life with us, beginning to end.  That is ourselves.  Treat yourself with love and dignity.  With respect. With care. With boundaries.  If you wouldn't let this man talk to your friend, your mother, your sister, your daughter as he talks to you, then he should not be talking to you either.  

And vice versa.  If we speak to those not how we would wish to be spoken to, we need to learn to do better.

Girl run. You are describing a strong willed Arabic man. If you can't appease him from another country then  you definitely won't be able to handle him with you there. Hiding a relationship is the MAIN problem! If you can't talk to your family, then why do it?

Seems to be an accurate norm from a cultural standpoint.  When they don’t make women dress like beekeepers while the men can wear shorts and tees in kajillion degree weather come back and lecture us on bias.

I wouldn’t let any man treat me like that. My husband is Moroccan and he is completely opposite of this guy. We have been together 5 years and married 3...My husband actually is very calm and quiet spoken...I am opposite of my husband. My husband has always told me the Quran says to treat your wife as you would your mother. I would move on and find someone else. 4 months into the relationship and the honeymoon phase is over...if it even had one. It’s only 4 months you can put yourself back together...don’t wait until you are stuck in a relationship for years that will be very hard to get out of. Morocco is very modern when it comes to a lot of their laws compared to many Middle East/North African countries but don’t forget if you move to Morocco and marry this man you will be under their rules. I would run...run as fast as you can.
