 Hi!

Congrats on having your interview! It's been awhile since I've logged back in VJ website. I can pretty much relate to this, although mine is stuck in "Biometrics has been scheduled." My wife did here Biometrics today, June 29, and after a couple of hours, her case got update to "being actively reviewed." Hope you can received oath information soon.

Hi, thank you for the blessings. I am glad to hear you and your wife both finally completed the biometric appointments. I hope you will be scheduled for the interview soon. It has been 15 months since submitting the application.

My estimated time until the final decision made is 11 months, similar to yours. I am also a 5-yr rule filer. I do not have updated status as well. You were done your bio but your still shows "Biometrics has been scheduled.” Mine is still “Interview was Scheduled.”

Did you guys read this? Maybe the qtr3 report will come soon. There were many pending cases.

I still do not receive my oath letter. Tomorrow (6/30) will be the end of week 8 waiting time, but I am fine with it now.

It's been quiet on this thread lately... but happy to say I passed my interview today and was able to take my oath same-day. I registered to vote as soon as I got home and going to the post office tomorrow to apply for my passport. What a relief after 16 months of waiting!

As far as I could tell they had multiple ceremonies throughout the day, and I assume that’s the case every day.

Wife has her Oath Ceremony on Aug 10.  Can't wait!  It seems like a very long journey is finally coming to an end.  I can't thank the people on this forum enough for helping my wife from her K1 - Citizenship.  This place is absolute gold.

Does anyone who went to the oath ceremony in NY Javitz building  know if they "interview" you again at the ceremony?

My wife failed the first time because she couldn't answer one of the "have you ever" questions, and now we see they have the same questions on the oath ceremony letter.  She is terrified, even though she knows all the answers are no, that she'll be asked to explain her answers again.

Her oath ceremony is tomorrow so she is in a complete panic and thinks they will deny her if she can't explain.  She knows basic English for work and life, but can't explain differences between paramilitary and military (this is what the Officer failed her for.)

She has been completely traumatized by the whole N400 process...lol

All they do is review the form to ensure it’s been completed and signed. They won’t go through each question again unless it has not been completed and signed. Personally, I filled out the form (except for the arrest, ticket question in case I got stopped for anything on the way to the oath) and signed the form inside the building. Tell her to enjoy the oath…

They generally ask all the questions on the form to make sure nothing has changed since the interview. They won't ask her to define the words though.

Hi everyone,

Just thought I would share my time frame with everyone. My online Estimated time until case decision kept showing 12 - 13months.
I would check every week for updates. So far this is how my case is:

March 25, 2021 We received your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, and sent you a receipt notice.
March 25, 2021 Got a notice to inform me that USCIS was able to reuse my previously captured fingerprints and other biometrics.
June 23, 2021 Interview Was Scheduled (Interview is Aug 12)

Just to update this thread on my progress.  The oath went smoothly.

They didn't collect her Dominican Passports, just the EAD and 2 Green Cards.  She was in and out in 25 minutes.

Good luck to everyone!  This forum was a huge help.

June 23, 2021 Interview Was Scheduled (Interview is Aug 12)

Update on my interview:

Interview was from 7:45am to 8:10am. Officer started with Civic Test asked:

- What is one thing Benjamin Franklin is famous for?
- What is the economic system in the United States?
- What do we call the first ten amendments to the Constitution?
- When do we celebrate Independence Day?
- What is one reason colonists came to America?
- What is the capital of your state?

Then asked me to read a sentence on an iPad "What do we pay to the government?". Asked me to write on an iPad "We pay taxes."

Then after he verified information on my N-400 Application and then asked the Page 12 yes and no questions. The only extra question he asked was "What does the Oath of Allegiance mean?"

Then he Congratulated me that I've passed the interview and told me I should be receiving a letter in the mail within one to two weeks with my Oath Ceremony date and location.

My online case states this now:

August 12, 2021 We recommended that your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, be approved. Your case was submitted for quality review.

August 12, 2021 Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled

Good Luck everyone.

Well it’s a bummer for me. I did my Biomtrics last May 26, 2021. Been waiting for an interview schedule but instead they sent me another Biometrics appointment. This is really frustrating.

Did you email and ask them through the USCIS account? I knew some applicants need second Biometrics because the first one was not recognized, but it might be their mistake to resubmit it to you again.
Contact them and you will know what's getting wrong. Best luck!

I sent a message in USCIS account but no replies. I called the USCIS number and got hold of somebody after 60 minutes of wait. The agent says it might have been a system issue that my first fingerprints have to be retaken. Asking her about my timeline( i.e. the interview, etc) if it will be affected, she said it will not be pushed back, I would still be in my timeline, but who knows when.. 🤷🏻‍♂️
