Hello Everybody :) just an update. I got my interview yesterday and I did same day oath. I am in San Diego, California. I am so glad this is done! It went by pretty fast. I filed under the 5 year rule. The officer was talking really fast. I think my travel going there took longer than the actual interview. hahah there were only 8 people  waiting with me in the lobby before I was called. They also issued us the certificate there and since they did a biometric reuse, my picture on the certificate was my picture from 10 years ago. lol But it's ok... it didn't change much. hahah. Everything was so fast; after I got 6 questions correct, I was asked about my application took about 10 minutes. Then after she congratulated me, she told me to go upstairs as they were doing same day oath. There were only 4 of us in the room and then we were done. I asked her about passports and she told me I need to call them because Covid protocols might have changed again. It's ok since my son would need to have his passport renewed too. Anyway, I am so glad this is done:)

Hi, I am also in San Diego. I somehow have difficulty downloading my N400 online and I do not have a copy when I filed it a year ago. Do you think that will be an issue? I mean did she ask you any questions on N400 that is hard to answer?

That sounds reassuring! I’m still waiting for my biometric appointment though. My local office is Jacksonville, FL. Must be just the backlog is so bad. I’m like already thinking of sending a request to our local congressman for assistance but it seems everybody is affected with this backlog. So just holding it down together and hope biometrics will be scheduled soon.

Does any new update for your Bio appointment or Interview?

Still nothing. I did the “outside of processing time” request last March 23, they replied 3 days after saying that my case is still within normal processing times (which is strange). The email says to wait 120 days and if I don’t hear anything I can call to check. I’m very tempted to request assistance from our local congressman’s office regarding this, but at the back of my mind, everybody might be also experiencing the same. btw, my local office is Jacksonville, FL just for info.

I believe you will hear it soon, just be patient. I knew someone whose filing date is close to mine has the same situation as you. He is still waiting. Let us know when good news comes. Blessings!

Well I am now a citizen.  Interview passed, oath 35 minutes later.  All done.  A huge thank you to all my fellow Visa Journey travelers, your help, support, advice and kind words have been a highlight of this whole process.  Thank you all so much, it would have been so much harder without all of you.  Time to start checking out the post oath forum to decide which order to do things in.  I will still be around for a while in case I can be of help to others.  May those still on their journey have a conclusion soon!

Does anyone know when answering 100 questions during the interview, if the question does not mention you should answer one or two, do we need to say all answers to the officer or just say one? The example question derived from them is below. Thank you!

Why did the colonists fight the British?

·         because of high taxes (taxation without representation)

·         because the British army stayed in their houses (boarding, quartering)

·         because they didn’t have self-government

Hi, Well I could not download my N400 application online as well  after a year but good thing I downloaded the snapshot right after I filed.

She didn't ask me anything that was outside of my application, I was filing based on the 5 year rule and she just asked me where I live, who do I live with and if I was still with the spouse I filed my I-751 before. How many children do we have? where I work or last worked. And my recent travels. That was it. I don't think that it will be an issue because, as far as you know what you put on the application you will be fine. I just printed it out for myself so I can review the dates, etc. But you're good to go:)

8.20.08-married :D:D:D

10.08 - forms I-485 and I-130 submitted through lawyer

11.08- biometrics

12.2008- appointment for interview received

01.04.09- EAD card received

01.28.09- interview for AOS

02.05.09- AOS approval letter and welcome note! yey!

02.12.09- GC recieved! :D (wrong middle name spelling)

02.15.09- moving out of in-laws' house.

confused if i have to change address first or have GC corrections

Thank you so much. It is good that you printed it out. For the recent travels, I travel once a year and the dates are hard to remember. Do they allow you to bring in your own N400 form and refer to that form when they ask you questions?
