Thanks for answering me back. I guess they are still quite backlogged.  I feel anxious since many of you here had actions taken on their cases. I, on the other hand am still waiting. Do you think it would be best to contact them again, this time, calling them and asking about the progress of my application? the 30 days ends next week (28th) and it will be a holiday, so I might not get another answer...

(getting very anxious... as you can see)

I noticed you are in San Diego.  California is moving super slow.  Just accept that you will have to wait.  My office is San Bernardino (which seems to be a little ahead of SD at the moment).  I am expecting biometrics to be some time next year.

Thanks for the encouragement, I was supposed to get an answer for my request today... But when I checked my account online, it just says

"

Biometrics Appointment Was Scheduled

On March 7, 2020, we scheduled you for a biometrics appointment and sent you an appointment notice for Receipt Number---------.

Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your appointment notice by April 6, 2020, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Current as of today at 10:57 p.m.

This is so weird... because, they cancelled it because of Covid. AAAND April 6, 2020 already passed. The reason, why I am also anxious is that my Green Card will expire on March 2021. I was assured that even if it expired, I will just need an extension letter IF I need to get out of the country. Otherwise, I would just have to wait. Also, I won't get any penalty because I applied well before 6months of expiry. I don't know what to do... On Monday, I will give them a call because I feel that the Thanksgiving Break delayed it some more. Maybe I will also give them another email before Monday...

I’ve just seen this notice from USCIS

USCIS has revised the civics portion of the naturalization test
Applicants with a “filing” date (also known as received date) on or after December 1, 2020, will take the 2020 version of the civics test. Applicants with a “filing” date before this date will take the 2008 version of the test. Still waiting for Interview :(   , bio done October 26

image.png.1503dfeadc635569ad65d9df640f1eef.png

FYI, if your estimated completion is in 6 months that's around when you will receive an interview date. What is your estimated wait time? Since you have completed the bio, the estimated wait time is the "anticipated" (all messed up because of covid) time for you to expect to receive the interview letter. It is usually a month before the estimated completion date.

The estimated completion date is when the oath is supposed to be done or date should be scheduled. So your interview won't be available before at least April or May 2021.

Ok, I will try again after next week. I just called them today and said that my e-request reply deadline is on Sunday and she can't do anything unless the full 30 day request is over. So I need to call again Monday of next week... :( It took me an hour before I was able to speak to a representative. The automated voice always puts you around in circles and "tries" to answer your question or topic. But all you get is a generalized one. When I finally said online account, that was when I was able to talk to a live person... Then I emailed them as well. This has been such a journey. It has been quite an interesting albeit frustrating one... I hope I get my answers soon. If not, my husband said, we will go to the ASC next week and try to walk in.  I am curious, did you need to present anything to prove that you do not have covid or anything?  Thank you for the advice!

Hi I am also in San Diego (san marcos) and our application was filed in late Mar, so no biometrics scheduled yet. I am so anxious. Did you try contacting the ombudsman? Please let me know if you got any luck walking in!

My N400 NOA date is Feb 28th, 2020, and my biometrics originally scheduled for Mar 18th was cancelled due to COVID closure and my biometrics was finally done Nov 30th.

When should I expect the interview to take place? 12 months since the filing, or 12 months since the biometrics? Current N400 processing time of Dallas office is 12.5 - 15.5 months.

Are there still March biometrics-takers waiting for the interview?

I am feeling so bummed!  😢

I went to my interview today. Got there on time. Sat for 3 hours. When my number was called they told me that they needed to reschedule my interview because they were still working on my background check.😱 I was shocked. Previously I heard they told the same thing to someone else and I thought that was bad, without thinking they would say the same to me. They told me I should get a new letter in the mail in 3 weeks.

I got back home and looked at my schedule and they updated my case with this verbiage:

December 7, 2020

Interview Cancelled

On December 7, 2020, we cancelled or descheduled the interview scheduled for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, Receipt Number IOE##########. We will notify you by mail if the appointment is rescheduled, a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

I am feeling so stressed, frustrated and depressed at the same time. Has anyone else experienced this or read about someone else having this same issue? It would help a lot to learn what to expect from this.

Thanks. 😓

About two weeks after I messaged USCIS to inquire about my biometrics rescheduling, I finally received a reply saying it's now rescheduled. Finally!

So I finally was able to get my biometrics done today. My estimated completion time  has now changed to 10 months... Let's brace for the wait...
