This is really strange I’ve never heard of that before . Sending a request should be only if you were the one that didn’t show up to your appointment. Good luck

Exactly what i tried to tell the agents! They didn't seem to care that they just switched it up and I was waiting on nothing for more than 30 days.. I even called twice and got the same instructions both times... thanks!

they said I need to request for rescheduling by mail using the notice and a letter of explanation stating reason as COVID19 office closings

This is some bs....you only mail the notice back to them, checking off the respective box(es) ONLY if you were the one who could not make it to the appointment. If THEY cancelled on you, THEY have to remedy this.

But honestly I don’t think you need to call them regarding Biometrics. If they need them they’ll reschedule and send you a notice. They are resusing a lot of the old biometrics. Have you heard of someone that got got a biometric rescheduled for N400?

Yes it’s an Adjustment of Status and not N400 I think USCIS is giving priority to AOS because these people badly need their work permits and status adjusted. There is a big chance they reuse your old biometrics they just didn’t send the letter yet.

This whole biometrics situation is most strange.  Most of the ASC have been open for over a month  and the first people who should get appointments are the tail end of February applicants and the early March applicants, yet this does not seem to be happening.

I think they’re only scheduling biometrics for applicants other than N400 which honestly make sense and they will reuse most biometrics for N400.  They can’t fill up the ASC centers with ton of people and this is understandable. People that are doing AOS need their Biometrics taken so bad bcz they don’t have old ones.

Got an email this morning saying that my biometrics appointment has been scheduled, but the document hasn't appeared in my tab yet so not sure what date I have to go in. Glad to see some activity but given the pandemic it'd be nice if they could reuse my old one!

You mean the "MIS-Information Line" yet again misinformed another person? Say it ain't so....Sorry but unless it was coming from the local ASC office which the call center isn't, then sadly 9 times out of ten, the agents at the call center are wrong and only say what they are told to say. Hell, even though they work for USCIS, most of them have no clue on the actual processes and procedures in place, only what they are told to say by their scripts which are usually wrong or out-dated so I really wouldn't put any stock into what they told you. If you can find the phone number for your actual local office, I would suggest that you call them directly.

When I sent off the email through our account on the USCIS page, the call center that answers them actually forwarded on our inquiry to the local OKC office here and I got an email from the local office telling me that we are in queue for biometrics reschedule. The call center really can't tell you what is really going on in this stage because they don't know where each local office is at in their processes.

Oh WOW!!! I've never had the need to contact USCIS since I started my immigration process. This is the first time I have had hiccups in any of my applications. That is great info, thanks @Prystine! I will keep that in mind.
