Hi ... just wanted to share that we've received e-notification (dated August 7) that the biometrics are being re-used. The document appeared quietly, without notification. I just noticed it this morning although it is dated Aug 7.

Here's a snapshot of where we are...its a bit confusing

  • biometrics scheduled for April 2; subsequently canceled due to COVID
  • received 10-year green card March 28
  • received notification August 6 that 1-751 interview scheduled for Sept 3 (WHAT? WHY? green card in hand already)
  • called USCIS Contact Center on August 10 and talked to Tier 2 agent...she said the interview is actually combined 1-751/N-400 interview and to be prepared for both. She said she expects we'll receive notification of the N-400 interview.
  • received notification that biometrics being reused.

Feels like things are mucked up! The other thing I'll say is...myuscis case tracker tools are out of sync. Some pieces are available online; others on the app. Its maddening.

Thank you for letting us know! I think you’re one of the first few people to be scheduled for a new interview. Not talking about the interviews that were canceled and rescheduled! Good luck !

Glad to see that some biometrics updates are being sent! My appointment was for March 23rd, just a few days after the shutdown :( But my last biometrics was taken 2017 - I dragged my feet on applying for N-400. So I don't think they'll be able to reuse mine. We'll see if I get a new notice in the mail... goodluck to all! Following this thread now, thanks for sharing your experiences.

Oh and My USCIS still has my case being finalized in September... so something must be off lol

Did you check the document tab in your account? They sent a notice for Biometric reuse to a lot of people. They said they will reuse mine my last biometrics were taken Jan 2019. It’s too early to be worried 99% of March cases haven’t moved yet

Depends which office you are assigned to.  There are people who applied in May 2020 who already have interview appointments.  My application however seems to be glued to the floor...

I don't know but I'm assuming the "biometrics waived" message isn't tied to when you filed, but tied to when you will have your interview. I for instance have a case completion time for next year, so they haven't waived my biometrics or given me a biometrics appointment yet as my case has so much time left on it, it'll happen further down the line. But for someone who has a case completion time that ends fairly soon, they might get biometrics waived as they will have their interviews so soon that they waive the biometrics for them.

Really good point! They probably hope that by the time your interview date is soon they can safely take new biometrics again but I hope you’ll be done sooner than what you expect. My estimated completion time was this past July then moved to this month and now it disappeared.

Good day!

I just received a notice that mail is coming from USCIS, so I went to the website and...

Quote

U. S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has received your form and is currently processing your application, petition, or request. This notice
informs you that USCIS is able to reuse your previously captured fingerprints and other biometrics. USCIS will run the same security checks and use
your biometric data as in the past, however, it is not necessary for you to appear at a USCIS Application Support Center (ASC) for a biometrics
appointment. The biometrics fee will not be refunded.
USCIS is continuing to process your application, petition, or request. USCIS will contact you in writing if any additional information is necessary to resolve
your case.
This notice is not an approval of your pending application, petition, or request.

So, I guess that's good news at least they send me a mail a month later saying that they need my biometrics, anyway...

Just want to shared the news just in case someone is wondering. They sent the later 08/07.

:luv:If you're tearing down my world, please just try to do it gently. There is love inside.... (L)
