My estimated completion date is August, Maybe it's because my local center isn't as busy and / or i waited till 5 years was over.

It must be due to a non-busy center as I am over 5 years but my timing is on the long side for my center.

USCIS has now stated their offices are closed until June 4th.  Looks like we all get to wait another month...

I imagine that if one filed today and for example biometrics would normally be in 14 days and the interview in 6 months, since all service centers are closed and your biometrics are pushed to 3 months., that the interview would still happen on time in 6 months?

I would not expect so.  If they open in June , they will have been closed for almost 3 months.  There will be a HUGE backlog of people to deal with, plus at the start I would not be surprised if there is still some social distancing so there will be limited numbers of people processed per day.  Further I expect any background checks will have progressed more slowly than normal due to working from home etc.

I think at the end of the day this will benefit everyone.  We will have to wait more until the offices open, yes.  But in the meantime they can be doing background checks and going along the process with everything else that does not need the fingerprints.  Once the fingerprints are taken, I'm hopeful everyone's wait time for the interview will be shorter.

Can they do background check without fingerprint/ biometrics?

The message on MyUSCIS states they are doing background checks, and will arrange Biometrics.  I don't really know why they need another set of fingerprints anyway, between the various immigration biometrics, airport security and checks for volunteering at my children's school the government should already have dozens of sets of my fingerprints.

Hello VJ's,

I would like to clarify about n-400 form. I am preparing my documents and i am little confused about legal name change. I have my husbands surname and that surname is on my greencard as well as on my SSN, Driver's License etc. I don't have any court order that confirms that i changed my surname. During my greencard interview, i requested to the officer, i want to have this last name on my Greencard, without any complication i received it with my new surname. Without any court order or written notice, how i confirm that i changed my surname? First name stays as it is, no changes have been done.

Thanks all

Mine reads August 2020 (4 months). What does this date indicates? The time I will be sworn in and become a citizen, or the time needed to review the paperwork and schedule interview and oath ceremony?

Hey, I believe the marriage certificate would be enough. That's the document I've been using as proof of name changed. DMV, Filling status, and adjustment.  I did the same for citizenship.

Verify your state, but I believe the marriage certificate should be enough.

What Pilsen said, your marriage certificate is proof of name change, that's what USCIS wants to see in your case. Some states show the married and the maiden name on the certificate, some only show the maiden name. It doesn't matter, the certificate is still proof of your name change if you decided to take your husband's surname.
