Hello all. Just a quick surgery trying to know more about this Polio Vaccination order.

When was your medical?

Did you/your fiance get the polio vaccine as a child?

Which region of the Philippines are you/your fiance from?

Also, is this required by the US? Or just the Philippine government? (aka Was this polio vaccine request made by SLEC or USEM?)

The letter I saw was from the Philippines, not from the embassy.   So I would say it is not USA related.  Doesn't mean it can be ignored as I haven't read anything regarding if it is checked at the airport.

My fiancée had her medical done on February 24th (Day 1) and February 26th (Day 2).  There was a holiday in-between which is why there was a gap in her medical dates.  I don’t know off the top of my head if she received the vaccine as a child, my guess might be no, but I could be wrong.  She was born in Mindanao but most of her family now lives in Lapu-Lapu City in Mactan Island of Cebu.

While doing my research the US does require your beneficiary to have the Polio vaccine.

One would think that if it is a required vaccination by CDC that SLEC would administer that vaccination during the medical .... but stranger things have happened.   After all it is the gubermint.

Does she have a circular scar on her arm near the shoulder?   Usually left arm.

Semi related...SLEC did not give the polio shot to my wife or step kids but my step daughter needed it for school in the States.  We are getting them here but they made POE without an issue.  It is a series of 3 shots.  She has had two so far.

My wife wasn't sure of her vaccination history and with her parents in the provinces being out of touch she couldn't find out in time. I asked and she said the SLEC staff told her it was required. No big deal, she'll get an ICV out of it at least.
