Hi,

I married to a US citizen and i'm filing I 130 and I 485 for my Green card. I live in California.

Now, as per the instruction in form I 485 I have to send my I130 and I485 applications with all the documents to Chicago, IL. Now in I-130 Item # 22 they are asking :

"22. Complete the information below if your relative is in the United States and will apply for adjustment of status.

Your relative is in the United States and will apply for adjustment of status to that of a lawful permanent resident at USCIS office in: "

What Office should I put here?

Laguna Niguel, CA or Chicago, IL ?

Thanks,

frommirage,

Neither. Laguna Nigel is a Service Center and Chicago is a mailroom. Where is your local USCIS District or Sub office?

The wording of that question really should be changed - it is a carry-over from the days when the I-485 was submitted directly to the local District and Sub offices.
