Went through my GC interview this morning and got approved!!! Now card is being produced... Good luck, everyone.

If you have any questions, I'll be happy to help.

Congrats!

We had our interview today as well. We waited for about 30-45 minutes, but the actual interview itself was about 10 minutes. It was very quick! We had 4 files stuffed to the gills with us and all he wanted was our birth certificate, marriage certificate and 2020 taxes. I asked if he needed anything else, but he wasn't interested. Good to be prepared though. He told us that because we'd already gone through the K1 process there wasn't any need for an intensive interview. He implied those that skipped the K1 are scrutinized more. He told us our interview was more of a formality if anything. Needless to say, he approved us on the spot.

Got home and status updated to new card being produced!

Good luck to anyone going to theirs soon! 🥰

Yay!!! Congratulations to you too!! We have similar experience with yours.

Mine changed to new card being produced, but oddly today it went to case was approved 😅 I guess it doesn't matter as long as it's approved 😁

Hi all, still waiting on our interview and totally slacking off on completing the renewal applications for EAD and AP. We are a little confused about this process, can someone walk me through what you included in your packet? Should it essentially look exactly like the initial application we sent in? Wondering if we should use the same eligibility category as the initial application. Thanks in advance!

Hey, yes I just filled I765 and I131 with almost the same information except the dates and address (things that changed since last year) The category stays the same. I included new passport pics and all the supporting documents asked for like last time but this time you should put a copy of your current combo card and maybe your I485 NOA to show its still pending. I believe you automatically get an extra 180 days extension to your EAD as long as you apply for the renewal. I also included a cover letter explaining that my i485 is still pending and my combo card is expiring  so that’s why I’m not including a check 😂

In my package I included the below:

- Form G-1145 (eNotification)
- Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization
- Form I-131, Application for Travel Document
- Copy of I-797C, Notice of Action, receipt of filing I-485
- Copy of previously approved Employment Authorization Card (Front & Back)
- Copy of I-94 arrival/departure card
- Copy of passport's biographic pages
- 2 color photographs (name and A# lightly printed in the back)

 I hope this helps.

This was super helpful, thank you so much! Most important lesson I've learned in all of this is to keep copies of everything to make the process easier haha! Thanks again!

Anyone from San Jose, California got interview date?

Do we have to pay for EAD/AP renewal?

San Jose, here! Have our interview on August 6th! No, you don't need to pay for your renewal.

Hope your interview went great! Pls let me know your experience.

Had our interview today in San Jose. It was a really odd experience that we both left feeling like we had done something wrong or missed something. Our interviewer went through our AOS paperwork and asked us all of the same questions, checking each thing off with a red pen. She made some corrections to things like my last name (which I hadn't legally changed at the time of filing but have now changed), as well as some other minor things like the fact that we have a baby on the way. She then spent probably 5 minutes asking us about how we met, who proposed, how long we dated. She asked for most recent tax documents and my (as the sponsor) most recent W2, updated letter from my employer and 2 months worth of recent pay stubs. She seemed totally shocked that we hadn't brought hard copies of updated pictures with us, although we showed her quite a few on our phones. She also asked for copies of paperwork showing that we live together, which we did. She then gave us a paper saying that "USCIS is unable to complete our case at this time and is being continued until a final decision can be made/it's being held for review'. The paper says we will hear something within 120 days but when we questioned her further she said we'd be seeing my husband's green card sooner than 120 days. So she didn't approve us, and the paper sure seems like we missed something or did something wrong. We are completely confused and were really hoping to be celebrating today. Our interview took close to an hour with most of that spent with her checking things off of the initial filing. So discouraging. Anyone else have this kind of experience?

Update after my post, I checked the case status website and it says as of today our new card is being produced, so I guess she approved it. Moral of the story, don't freak out if you get a less than enthusiastic officer!

Congrats! They shouldn’t make the applicants feel like this after all the paperwork and wait we go through. Anyway, happy that you folks crossed the line :)

I got my case turned into "Interview Scheduled" today.

I just wonder if I have to do Medical Exam form again? Obviously the one I did with K1 is 2 years ago (and yes, I submitted AOS in 1 year time range).

Anyone have experience about this?

Thank you!
