Got our letter today! Interview is schedule exactly a month from now! May 12th.

We are excited but a bit nervous. Because of the pandemic we haven't really gone out at all in the last year. He was looking for remote work for awhile, but no luck, so decided to finish his degree online while we wait. We haven't had a chance to open a joint bank account at my banks because he didn't have his green card or California ID (since we would have to go in person to DMV for that). So we are a bit handicapped by that. We filed our taxes jointly though, and I have him as an authorized user on my CC. Hopefully it will go alright.

Heres to wishing all our fellow Californians get something soon!

I got the same interview date, May 12th, I'm also in California.

Quick question, will you need to do another medical exam? The sealed packet that was supposed to be obtained by the US immigration upon my entry is still in my possession. They didn't want to take it when I first entered the border. Not sure if it's already expired and I should take another medical exam.

Thanks!

Congrats! :)

Same for us . He has a sealed medical from when he came. I don't think we need to get another one, but someone can clarify if otherwise. Just planning on bringing the sealed one we have incase they ask for it.

Thanks and Congratulations to you too! :)

Hmm - hope we don't have to. I heard it's another 300usd just to get another one 😅 Mine was signed by the certified physician back in Taiwan on Oct 2019. May I ask when you had yours signed? Does it say how many years it's valid? Thanks so much.

Ours was signed Dec 2019 I believe. It says on the medical its good for 6 months, but I don't know if that was just for coming into the country.

I think this article states our sealed packet should be valid for 2 years from the date the doctor signed it http://myattorneyusa.com/updated-form-i-693-report-of-medical-examination-validity-policies

Hope someone can confirm it.

Did they ask for your medical exam sealed packet and do you have to take a new medical exam?

Thanks in advance!

We got a new medical done and handed in the sealed envelope as additional evidence.

My wife didn't complete the physical portion of the i129. The physician told her to check the box that says she prefers not to get the vaccines done and then get them done while she's here. Told her to do this because a) some vaccines take time and b) told her the medical is only good for a year anyway.

My wife got the physical done once we got the interview date. This included getting blood work done to test what vaccines she has and also getting some vaccines that she hasn't had in the past.

I can't find anything online other than the article you linked above. We have insurance and lucky for us all the medical work didn't cost us anything.

Thanks! I got everything done prior to coming here. I still have my sealed packet though. Just didn't want to go through the whole medical thing all over again. It's so troublesome - i just don't see the point of why we should redo it all over again. Anyway, i still haven't decided if I'll do it. I'll probably take a chance and hope I don't get an IO that is bad at his job.
