@PinchOfSalt We are also SF and are going to be sending in our EAD extension tomorrow which will be 180 days before it expires. It's free to do so we figured might as well. We are also sending in the I-131 in hopes of getting another combo card.

Hopefully we will get our GC interviews before it expires but seems worth doing just in case. Supposedly the EAD renewals can be really slow, so the sooner the better.

Also, where did you see that our interviews will be at least April?

Hello, I'm currently in the process of filing my EAD renewal as well, but I have a couple of questions that I'm hoping you may be able to answer. Our initial application was handled by a lawyer, but the renewal is not covered in our contract when we hired him so this is my first time to file for form i-765 and i-131.

Questions:

1. What are the supporting documents you need to submit? Is it just a copy of your approval notice (i-797) for i-765? Do I also need to add a copy of my approval notice for i-131 and my pending i-485?

2. Did you submit your application through mail or electronically?

3. Did you have to send 2 new copies of ID picture?

4. I attached a sample form for Part 6: Did you have to fill this form to refer to the additional documents you sent?

Thank you so much!

Call them and request a tier 2 call back. The tier 2 agent who called me back emailed me the notification and appointment date. Do not leave it too close, it took almost 3 weeks for a tier 2 to call back! they called on a friday and our appointment was the monday.

How long did they take to call you back? They told my wife today they’d call back within 14 days. Kinda panicking because it’s already been 19 days since our notice.

Call them again! we had to call three times and about 20minutes after the third call a tier 2 called us back!

When we first asked for a tier 2 to call back they said 7 days after 2 weeks nothing. Called a second time she straight away said she would get a tier 2 to call us back within 48 hours... waited 7 nothing. Called a third time he said there was one outstanding request made ??! from 4 weeks ago which should be answered soon and there is nothing he can do. Then we got the call shortly after with the appointment date 3 days out. SO CALL!!! DONT WAIT

We submitted our EAD / AP renewal more than a week ago and didn't get any text or email notification even though we filled out the e-notification form. Anyone else in this boat? Trying not to freak out!!! Haha

What are the rules for EAD? Does the renewal need to be approved before it expires or is it enough to have submitted the renewal request before it expires? I know that for EADs based on OPT you only need to submit the renewal before the EAD expires as long as it is for the same eligibility category. Is the same through for EADs based on AOS?

Don't want to do more paperwork than I need to. Still waiting for my interview, but hope I will receive something soon.
