You might want to wait about 10 days, then call SSA to see if you are in the system. In most cases you won't be and you'll have to apply with your local  SSA office.

So the check box on the application is just to be put in their system? We still have to physically go into the office to apply for it with combo card in hand? It’s not automatically generated and sent to us?

That's how it's  supposed to work. Some people get it after a few weeks others there is no record. Lately I've  been seeing people have to apply again.

USCIS is like a box of chocolates, you never know what kind of answer you are going to get!!!!

Good to know! Thank you for clearing it up! We’ll give it a few weeks and then give them a call! Thanks!

congratulations!!! as we know the USPS is just as bad as the USCIS. having looked at the informed delivery again the status changed from delivery tomorrow to attemped delivery today.. apparently they tried although originally it said it was still in transit and hadnt left the local post office. Also they can get into my building, so not sure what the attempted delivery is. I guess i have to hope it'll come tomorrow

Thank you! I'm sure you'll get it soon. USPS is just slow from what I heard, USPS laid off some of their employees (for political reasons) so they're a little short-handed.

I’m impressed with USCIS this time, lol. My SSN card showed up today in the mail. No mistakes at all.

Hey everyone. For those of you who got EAD/AP cards in the mail, did they arrive in your mailbox like normal mail, or did you have to sign for them? Also, has anyone had experience with USCIS mail successfully forwarding to a new location based on a change of address logged with USPS?

USPS just dumped it into my mailbox :p I am used to a different standard of handling that kind of important mail...it's quite scary to think about what could have happened, if! So better not to think about it ;)

How did you get a USPS notification? I didn't get one.

you need to have an account and informed delivery with USPS. I made an account just for this purpose...only they had to confirm my address, so they mailed me a letter addressed to " -my name- or current resident" (😂😂😂) which took 3 days, so I had my combocard before my account was activated.

And ever since then I receive an email daily, informing me about mail that I have received THE DAY BEFORE. What a useless nonsense of a "service"... 😂🙄

Hello everyone,

Me and my Fiance got married and filed for I-485 and I-765 late March. My fiance came from Vietnam with K-1 Visa in Feb. It's now September 20th so its been 6 months already. I called USCIS and they kept saying that its still within processing time and just told me to wait. And the status only says "case received" for I-485 and "Finger print fee was received" for I-765. This is very frustrating. Is there anyone else the same? What should I do at this point?

Im the us citizen through naturalization, we have my wife’s i-485 interview oct 5, on the list of things we need to bring to the interview. It says we need my birth certificate as well. I dont have my birth certificate. For those who already had their interviews, did the uscis officer ask for it?
