So I heard there's some confusion as people think they may use the approval notice I-797 instead of the EAD. This is not true, the I-797 reads verbatim "this is not a visa and may not be used in place of a visa or evidence of employment authorisation", so I would recommend to everybody to just comply with the conditions and wait until you have the actual EAD card in hand.

So frustrated with SSN card we applied with EAD form been waiting for over 2 weeks nothing in the mail, we went to SSA office a week ago to applied personally and was told its not verified yet by DHS and that i have to wait another 2 weeks. Anyone have the same issue with SSN card?

Ah wow, okay, now only do I see that your EAD was approved on 5th of May already! So you've been waiting very long! 😮 you certainly deserve to have it!

Quick update. My case changed to "Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview" today, 1 week after the bio.

Quick update. My case for EAD changed to New Card Is Being Produced today. Not sure when I will have the physic card on hand. I-485 stays remain "Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview".

The explanation on the site you linked reads: "As a result, employees may use Form I-797, Notice of Action, with a Notice date on or after December 1, 2019 through and including August 20, 2020...." So I understand it doesn't apply anymore from 21st August 2020.

I have the same status' and I called them yesterday. the rep said that it will be a combo card even with that Case Received status on I-131. Also that they need to do about 2-3 checks on the card after it's been produced so it's correct and also a background check so it might take up to 30 days (her words). She also mentioned that the scheduling of the interview takes a while because of all the process involved in sending it to the local office from National Benefits Center and them scheduling. I don't have a second biometrics appointment as they took prints of all my fingers in my first one.

I'm still waiting for my SSN card. I called SSA to schedule an appointment but they told me it might take 2-3 months to take place.
