I've impatiently been waiting for my biometrics appointment in Austin TX for months now but only decided to call USCIS last week after I heard about someone that filed the same day I filed having their appointment this week.

So last week I called USCIS and was told not to worry, everything looks good and my appointment should be scheduled within the next two weeks.

I decided to call again today and was told my appointment was scheduled and the appointment notice was sent out on July 28th and that I missed my appointment. The lady said luckily my case has not been closed yet and now I'm waiting for a Tier 2 officer to call me back. I hope they will actually call me back..

I moved in June (just up the road) and they sent me a confirmation to my new address. Also USPS is forwarding mail to our new address.

I'm so upset but not surprised.

OMG, terrible! I can totally imagine you are upset, as I have been waiting for USCIS to schedule my interview these past weeks. Fingers crossed that T2 calls you soon and offer you a new interview date in the near future!

I got a surprising (and positive) update today: while still waiting for my interview to be scheduled, I just received an email telling me that today my EAD card was requested and I should receive it within 30 days! :D I guess I totally didn't expect any progress on my EAD at this point. I guess those ridiculous processing time estimates at USCIS website are really just someone overdosed on Mars bars 😜

Just got off the phone with them and now got my appointment on 09/22. I'm still upset because it's such an unnecessary delay but I'm also relieved.

Congratulations on your EAD!

Ah, that's not that bad, I'd say - just 3 weeks until interview! Wasn't necessary, but at leastnow you have an appointment :D Good luck!

Hey Guys! Just wanted to let you know that my EAD was ordered to be produced yesterday.

I filed in March, got my NOA1 in April.

Did my first set of biometrics (all ten fingers) on August 14th, my second biometrics for I-131 (just my right pointer finger) on September 1.

Yesterday it was finally approved!!

Does anyone know when I should expect the physical card in the Mail?

Congrats!! Exciting that so many people are getting there EAD card approved without expedite. There is hope for all of us! Also, you're one of the few that I have seen that have actually gone in twice for biometrics. Clearly, USCIS can become more efficient!

The card should come pretty quick - in about a week I think!

I've seen some people asking how to get their SSN and people who aren't able to apply for state-issued ID and/or driver's license.

I got my SSN before covid-19 lockdown. I proactively went to SSA office and brought the required documents (passport, marriage certificate, i-94, birth certificate, 2 docs - proof of address) not sure if you are still able to do that since i-94s are only valid for 3 months.

I am also in the process of getting my DL. Tomorrow, I am scheduled to have my written test. DMV is not taking new appointments, but they're taking walk-ins. I gave them my (NOA for i485, i765, and i131, SSN, 2 docs - proof of address, passport, expired i-94).

Hope this helps. Anyway, I still haven't received any new updates regarding my EAD and AP. Had my biometrics last August 5, some are receiving their EAD in the mail now. I don't have any valid reasons to expedite the process. So I called them the other day to check and escalated the issue that it's already pass the processing time. The USCIS representative, agreed that it's pass the processing time and said I should here from them in 2 weeks. Hopefully, I'll get an update by then.

Anyone else in California that has the same timeline as mine? Would like to know if there's any new updates from your side. Thanks in advance!

Your timeline is almost the same as mine👌 My update says EAD should arrive within 30 days.

Each state has their own policies on DLs. Or DMV ppl who donno what to do with K-1ers.

I got my SSN 2 weeks after arriving to the US (applied at SSN office literally on the day after arrival) and my DL a few weeks later - typically one has to apply for DL 60 (!) days before the expiration of I-94 (which I also didnt know at the time).
