Update...

got another letter for more biometrics.... this time for the i131 and i765... even though my previous biometrics letter was for the i485 and i765.. 🤦🏿‍♂️ do i need to go in again?

Thought they would just put the last biometrics the code 3 for everything?

Hello! I have not changed my last name yet.  I probably will not change it before my husband's AOS interview because I do not want to put my original documents in the mail.  I am wondering if this will adversely impact us when my husband goes for his interview.  i.e. not have any accounts or mail with Mr and Mrs....Any thoughts?

Nope - shouldn't be a problem. Not everyone changes their name!

Yes! We made a list of the documents needed and will work on getting them together. And we actually went to the office a few weeks back to try to do a walk-in for biometrics! They didn't allow the walk-in, but at least we're familiar with the location now 😂. Thank you for the advice!

Congrats on getting your interview scheduled! How do you know what documents you need to take to your interview for AOS

We will bring all the documents that supports our relationship: lease, utility bills, bank accounts, various wedding-related contracts - all with both our names. We also plan to bring some new photos as well as emails/conversations to other people that pertain to our relationship. These are just some of the items off the top of my head, feel free to let me know if there's anything else!

They send you a letter which states all the documents. Basically a copy of your AOS package, medical if you haven’t send the DS3025 yet or haven’t done one yet, extra supporting documents for I864, like last pay stubs and if something has changed you have to show documents for that. Documents showing your eligibility for lawful permanent resident status, I would assume for K1 like marriage certificate, approved K1 and such. Proof of your life together, shared bank, bills on each name and pictures and such. I made myself an extra checklist of everything I want to bring.

Thank you, appreciate the input!

I think it also depends on what you can prepare. We are just 24/25 so we don’t own much yet. I’m sure as much as you can provide will be good, a shared bank account would be good. They need to understand that in 6 month of our marriage in a pandemic we can’t have everything 😂

They don't expect you to have everything, but they do expect you to have the basic things that married couples have together i.e. joint checking, insurance etc.
