Morning all,

not sure if its just me but i received an email this morning from what looked like USCIS email address. The email address is correct but the content just seemed wrong and the wording in the email seemed wrong too. It told me that there had been action on my case and to sign in clicking on a blue sign in box in the email. I did not do this as i usually do not click within boxes on my phone so just deleted the email. Went onto my laptop to check USCIS and nothing had changed, went back into my phone to the bin to see if i can find the email to screenshot it for here but it has vanished! Guessing its a phishing scam... thought i would see if anyone else has had the same experience? and if not be careful i guess?

Nope, it's not a scam. It's actually an email from USCIS.

Thats so interesting, i've never received emails like that till yesterday. It was just so bizzare as i had never seen it and that it had disappeared from my deleted emails too and my status didnt change 🤷🏿‍♂️

Thanks for the information though.

I have a question and was wondering if anybody could help out:

I completed my biometrics for AOS + EAD (code 3) on August 6, and received a biometrics notice today for EAD + AP (code 2). I was wondering why I have to redo biometrics for my EAD, and will doing it again cause USCIS to restart the approval process, putting me at the back of the "line" (on the website is says "Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken")?

Thank you in advance!

I’m so sorry for you guys! Good luck on your appointment tomorrow. Maybe you can try and get the EAD expedited? I know you can also try it based on financial hardship. Would be worth giving it a shot.

Thank you! Yes, I’m gonna file expedite request first thing Monday morning. My previous request was denied due to lack of fingerprints. Hope it works this time!

Called USCIS at 5 AM (pacific) to file an expedite request, citing financial hardship & eviction lawsuit. The agent patiently listened & entered all details to the request. Was off the call in about 18 mins. My biometrics was completed last Friday. My previous expedite requests in April & June were denied due to lack of biometrics. Hope it works this time!

We requested an expedite on Monday and faxed over documents on Thursday and today our case updated to "expedite request approved." Hopefully it'll change to EAD approved soon. I'm tentative to get too excited just yet.

Changed to new card being produced today! Such a relief.

How long until they ship it usually?

Filed for I-485, I-765, I-131 (adjusting from K1) on 3/13/20, NOA on 3/20/20, biometrics on 8/6/20. Status for I-485 changed to "ready to be scheduled for an interview" on 8/7/20 and changed to "interview was scheduled" today! Called USCIS and they said they mailed out the interview appointment letter today and that it should arrive this week or next week. So happy!! Hoping for good news for everyone else soon too!

Once you get the letter the interview  date will be fairly close. Get your documents together now! I also suggest if the local office is not to far to make a dry run to the local office to get familiar with it's  location.

Awesome! Congrats!! I hope you receive your letter. I have to call the USCIS because the USPS claimed that my address was wrong and they sent it back to the USCIS. My address is the same as they always use so lots of 😂😂

at least I know my interview date, mine is sept 17 😁

have you received your EAD yet? I heard they don’t do the stamps in the passport anymore at the interviews ☹️

Yes! We made a list of the documents needed and will work on getting them together. And we actually went to the office a few weeks back to try to do a walk-in for biometrics! They didn't allow the walk-in, but at least we're familiar with the location now 😂. Thank you for the advice!
