And if you are wondering what they are going to do for two weeks except sending out appointment notices, this note on the individual ASCs site pages seems to explain it:
"This office provides services to military personnel from 9:00AM to 3:00PM, Monday through Friday. Military personnel do not need an appointment."

If you are military, just go and get your biometrics done!

Sorry to hear that,  as i heard and read somewhere similar situation:

1.Try to call USCIS and ask how you can get emergency Advance Parole.

2. If they can't do for you  Advance Parole and you anyway will go back to your country you can't come back you will need to apply for Spouse visa which can take time.

Good luck!

1. I have called USCIS  customer contact and asked them for appointment of emergency AP and they were not ready to listen me. They asked me to wait for 30 more days to see what will happen to my normal AP.

How should one be military shortly after moving to the US and applying for AOS? It does not include spouses of military personnel

Do you guys think EAD/AP will be slightly delayed (based off of Visajourney timelines) due to everything? And they probably dont process without getting biometrics done first?

i'm hoping if anything it will move quicker than normal, it seems like from reading the Jan/Feb forums a lot of them have been approved and cards are processed and sent. Also a few i485 approvals too. So it seems like they are pushing everything through as quick as possible to not get a massive backlog.

I agree, all they can do right now is working on our documents while there are not too many in person activities.
By the way, we sent our AOS package at the beginning of February and  EAD/AP card was just approved two days ago.

Hopefully it’ll be fast since February people who did their biometrics right before closure are getting cards now. I’m hoping they open up and we can get prints done before July ends and then EAD a few weeks later maybe

Agreed that it might be fast after we get our biometrics done, but the question is when will that actually happen. I listened to the webinar a few weeks ago, and I noticed that the guy from the ASCs mentioned that they would open, but at a "significantly reduced" processing throughput. Not quite sure what that means, but I would be surprised if many March 2020 filers get their biometrics done before end of July.

For my timeline for example, I filed March 25, NOA1 April 10. So if my biometrics was scheduled, it would have been in the end of April. That's about six weeks after the closure. My ASC opens July 20, so assuming normally processing speed (reduced processing speed, but some applicants have gotten their biometrics waived), I could expect my biometrics at the end of August/early September. If they are really slow, maybe a month later? And then if the furloughs happen (which are expected to last 30-90 days), I need to add a few more months.

I want to be optimistic, but it is important to be realistic too so that we can plan our lives accordingly!

That is true. I wonder what the backlog really looks like. We filed first day of March and have NOAs of 3/10. We just narrowly missed the appointment letter being sent out as they shut down.
