That's so great to hear, you got approved. When I requested an expedite for humanitarian reasons (I have a job offer on hand), I was denied due to no biometrics. I'm not sure why some get approved without biometrics and others don't :(

So sorry to hear that, but this approval is just first step because i am pretty sure that without biometrics they will not issue a EAD card and they have their rules about EAD it can take 6-8 months to get on hands, so we all in same boat even i m approved.

It's frustrating, but unfortunately all we can do is wait this out.

I just called USCIS and they said they will not be conducting biometrics appointments until June 22nd.

I also asked why my expedite request was denied and others get approved without biometrics and she just said that it is determined on a case by case basis 🙄

It seems like they are zooming through all the Dec2019 and Jan 2020 filers with quite a few approvals, so hopefully this will clear any backlog and when the appointment scheduling happens the people who it goes to after the biometrics can move quickly and approve the rest of us...

Was on the USCIS webpage looking for some answers and came across this... guess its some good news as it mentions that they will "provide an overview of reopening procedures for field offices, asylym offices and ASC's "

Think i may register just to see what they have to say and to get the latest information. (also hope that they will somehow see that i registered to learn about the reopening and push me to the top of the list for processing! 😜 ) But it seems like on the 18th June we will have more concrete information rather than the conjecture we have on the forum currently

Hey guys! Has anyone gotten a biometrics letter yet? Also, does the status in USCIS Case Tracker change when the biometrics are scheduled or is it just a letter by mail?

Hope you guys are doing good!

So listening to the stream as i metioned above, the ASCs will be reopening from July 13th only a phased reopening so not all offices will bve open right away. But i guess atleast we have a date. There will be a worksheet sent with the appointment letter for you to fill in. This must be filled in BEFORE your appointment in order to make the appointment more efficient and safer due to COVID 19.

They didnt really say much else with regards to AOS/EAD/biometrics that isnt on their website already

Following on from this, now that we are on the Q&A section, they said that they will be sending out appointment letters from June 22nd (?) all the way through till 4th July. So hopefully we will all be hearing something from next week onwards.

Hi,
I also listened to the stream. A few things I would add:
* The date I heard for when we could expect start getting biometrics notices was June 29, i.e., the week leading up to July 4th.
* They expect the ASCs to operate at a "significantly reduced rate" as compared to pre-COVID-19 levels.
* Certain ASC appointments will get prioritized. They mentioned some related to adoption (800A and 600A?), but even for those appointments it might take several weeks for the applicant to get an appointment notice due to the backlog and reduced processing rate.
* Which ASCs that open will depend on state and local orders regarding COVID-19, as well as if they have been able to prepare the ASC for opening (plexi glass, etc.)

So don't expect anything next week and then a slow trickle starting June 29th.

Btw, this information agrees with what this Reddit user posted a few days ago:
https://www.reddit.com/user/PublicEfficiency1/
https://www.reddit.com/r/USCIS/comments/h9j1le/3_months_later_and_still_no_word_on_application/
"Internal guidance. 1st group of ASCs 7/13, 2nd 7/20, 3rd 7/27. Also, will not be able to handle same amount of applicants as before shutdown, so there will be a backlog for some time. And if furloughs happen on 8/3, well..."

Let's also hope that the USCIS furloughs don't happen! If that happens, we might not be able to do our biometrics for a really long time, and we will be stuck in limbo!

So, I got a deficiency notice in the mail today from USCIS,

says they did an initial review of my application to AOS and it is deficient because I failed to provide a completed and signed I-693..

is this normal? I thought I-693 is provided at time of interview..

also is this a good indication that theyre about to schedule an interview? I’m surprised to have received it so soon after noa1..

I am march 2020 AOS filer. And I-131/ travel is still pending . I am not sure when I-131 will be approved. My parents are not well and I have to urgently go to my home country.  What do I do ? Any suggestion?

Sorry to hear that,  as i heard and read somewhere similar situation:

1.Try to call USCIS and ask how you can get emergency Advance Parole.

2. If they can't do for you  Advance Parole and you anyway will go back to your country you can't come back you will need to apply for Spouse visa which can take time.

Good luck!
