Morning everyone! we were dropping further and further down the forum lists so thought i'd bump it up!

Read a very interesting article over the weekend https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/17/us/immigration-agency-uscis-budget.html not sure if this is the right place to post it but it is visa related... so mods if its not please move it to wherever its supposed to go! After reading it and finding out that applications have dropped by 60% makes me think what is taking them so long to process all our visas....

have a good week, lets hope for some biometrics letters and/or approvals without the need of them!

Maybe if they pulled their finger out and started adjudicated people petitions within a reasonable timeframe rather than 12-18 months, there would be more people applying for for actual green cards.. what do they expect when they push processing times out two and three fold of what they were just a couple of years ago.

That's awesome. How did you get this notice? Never heard before that they're informing that biometrics will get scheduled. Usually just getting a letter with your appointment information.

Carina, correct me if I am wrong, but I think that she is just referring to her paper I-797C confirming the receipt of the application. My I-797C says under "next steps" that they will schedule my biometrics. I got my paper notice on April 11, and I am still waiting. I think the real good news will be when they start sending out biometric notices with a time and location! Don't think they will do that before they start opening up offices again. I suspect that they are going to do a gradual opening with opening offices in less affected states first. I just hope they don't do an across the board extension of the closure again!

Mako_5: Let us know when that combo card arrives! More EAD cards without biometrics would be great.

Yeah that’s what the NOA says. Next steps will be them scheduling. I don’t think anyone has gotten anything scheduled yet. Been in the dark since early March about it.

Hello everyone, my husband and I are planning on sending in our AOS next week and have been keeping track of March and April AOS filers. I was hoping to ask some questions for those of you who habe dubmitted the I-944. Any advice would help us out!

1. For I-944 part 3. Your households assests and resources, did you include last years bank statements? I am the petitioner so I included my checkings and savings accounts since that is all I have and I make over 125%.

2. Part 3: Household income

How did you guys fill out #1 for the beneficiary question "Did you or your household members, whose income is being included, file a federal tax return"? My guess is yes since it says "you or your household" but would like to see what you guys did/think.

3. For the credit report and score what are some ideas you all came up with. My husband still does not have a SSN he does have a letter from SSA that he did apply and I took screenshots from experian that states he does not have any credit/score. What did you guys do in this situation?

4. Part 4: Your education and skills

My husband did not receive a high school degree or anything after. He studied until 9th grade in his country. He has a certificate that states he studied until 9th grade and last year he completed one year of a type of high school program and has a certificate of completing one year but did not finish due to comimg here to receive his high school diploma/GED equivalence.

I know this is a long post and appreciate so much and help I can get. I wish the best for each and everyone of you who have submiited AOS and are waiting!!

Thank you in advance!!

@Joanna & Rafael

When submitting ours we:

Q1. Didn’t list petitioners purely because my husband earns well inexcess of minimum income requirement, so we didn’t include his house or spare truck that I use.. we did add however the value of my house, my savings and the balance of my retirement fund and evidance of balances showing I’m not financially dependent on him

Q2. We listed both my husbands US income and my Overseas Income for the last financial year, plus my income for the current financial year and attached his and my tax return documents to support the information provided.

Q3. I just uploaded a screen shot of Experian saying I don’t have one and a letter of explanation saying I don’t have a ssn have applied for one as pert of AOS process.

Q4. All he can do here is fill in as applicable. Noting date he left school and attaching any certificate he achieved.

Good luck.
