Hi all, not sure if anyone can help me answer this but I may have come across a mistake I made with my I-944. My spouse and i currently live apart as we work in different areas so he doesn't physically reside with me (we see each other on the weekends and occasionally some nights throughout the week). I realised that you are only supposed to list a spouse as a household member if they physically reside with you or if they don't reside with you but you provide at least 50% of their financial support (which I don't). I listed him as a household member but should I take him off the form completely? TIA!

I’m with @Sarge2155 download all new forms to ensure correct version and complete them all from scratch. Ensuring you put N/A in every section that dosent apply..

make sure your cover page page lists each form submitted as part of the package and then an index page for each form listing all evidence attached to it e.g noa2, i94 etc etc... check double check all instructions for each form

IT LOOKS LIKE YOU HAVE TWO OPEN CASES. ONE AT THE NVC AND NOW ONE WITH USCIS. YOU U THINK THAT MIGHT BE THE REASON FOR THE REJECTION??

Is this individual filing an application for an immigration benefit with you or has this individual already filed an application?   NO

I have personally ticked YES (for myself) for this question as the immigraion benefit that you are applying for is the Green Card.

This is my personal opinion and could be wrong. Perhaps anyone who has filed and not been rejected can share what they answered for this question.

Thanks :)

No not two cases... only one at NVC currently, if and when they ever accept our AOS everything at NVC will be returned to USCIS for completion..

i spoke with uscis on the phone today, and specifically mentioned that our case is currently pending dq at NVC, she said it had nothing to do with it.

our package was rejected for incorrect edition of I485 however she confirmed that the version we sent was the current version so we have no idea now why it was rejected 🤷‍♀️ All we can do is reprint, double check and resubmit

Just received my 4 texts with case numbers! Very happy, and relieved! They have not taken money from my account yet, but I am not worried about that at all. Now, I just want the offices to open back up again so that I can take my finger prints and expedite my EAD...

Hope that more people got good news tonight!

My application just got accepted, and I had YES on both those questions for "Self". Same reasoning as YvetteS. I think those questions are unnecessarily confusing when talking about oneself. Yes, of course I live with myself, and yes, of course, I am applying for an immigration benefit. No reason to fill out I-944 otherwise...

How were you able to get a SSN? I keep calling my local office (Prescott, Arizona) and they are telling me that they are unable to issue me a SSN because their offices are closed and they cannot conduct the face to face interview required to issue a SSN :(

We applied back in February for it and got it in March.
