Did you recieve two mails from NVC? One is to check the ceac message and other is 'you are documentary qualified '.

Correct. I was at work, extremely busy, when I saw two emails pop up. I knew immediately that we were approved because when we got our RFE it was only one email. Yep, I opened the second email and it said they would work with the embassy to schedule our interview. Then I opened our CEAC account and it said DQ. ☺️

So US embassy in Brazil is working on visa interview? I thought all US embassies are closed due to coronavirus.

We paid the AOS and IV fee on Monday and today the CEAC shows payment status "PAID".

The AOS form is now available. My wife currently has a job in the US and earns well above the minimum limit. But this is her first year there and she will just file her 1st return. Prior to that she was living with me in Dubai and unemployed. So for the other 2 years should she write a letter explaining why there wont be returns? Is there a need to look at joint sponsors?

Also I still cant see the choice of agent form on the portal. On many guides its supposed to be the first step after NVC create your case. But its not available even though we've paid the fees and AOS is now available.

Congrats on the DQ. What was your I-184 like? (I'm worried because I only electronically "printed" my form, except for the signature page, so it's not editable by regular PDF readers but advanced editing software like Adobe Acrobat can easily modify the form. Not sure if mine would qualify or not...) Thanks!

Good morning! Thank you!

Yes, I attached the signed page, combined the PDF and sent it. Unfortunately it was editable and they didn't accept it. For me it was not a problem because some documents were still missing so I printed and scanned the copy and sent it again. It worked this way.

It's closed until the second order but the email we receive is standard.

It's written like this:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received all of the fees, forms, and documents that are required prior to attending an immigrant visa interview at a U.S. Embassy/Consulate General overseas.

NVC will work with the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General in RIO DE JANEIRO, BRZL to schedule an interview appointment for you. Once we have confirmed an interview date, we will send a notice to you, your petitioner and attorney (if applicable).

Please do NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until you have received an immigrant visa from the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General.

The U.S. Embassy/Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of the interview. Please visit https://nvc.state.gov/prep for information about immigrant visa interviews.

Regards,
National Visa Center,
U.S. Department of State

No. The DQ email we reviewed comes from the Nvc here in America.

Thank you! So your PDF still had the purple fillable boxes when you sent them?

Yes, means that when you open, anyone can edit your data and compromise the content. The best way I could do that was to scan the completed form and combine it into one file.

Got it - wanted to confirm to see how screwed I am. I already submitted and can't really change anything at this point. Had I known beforehand I totally would have printed the whole thing out. Thank you and so happy for you though!

Yes. I know that.. but the second emails says that they will work on your interview with US embassy. So was confused.

Ahhhhhh ok I see what you mean. Well honestly I think that’s an automatic email it generates when someone gets DQ, but I also was confused. I’ll try to call NVC and ask. Hopefully I can get thru on the phone.
