The interview notice usually comes from NVC I believe. Depending on the backlog of the embassy. How long ago since you received DQ?

EDIT: sorry just checked your timeline and it seems that you haven't received DQ from NVC yet. The embassy won't receive the case until NVC gives you the DQ.

My DQ on 03/11. I will update my account.

Congratulations!

That is very recent. As I mentioned above, your case is still with NVC. NVC will schedule your appointment during the next round of scheduling, and will send you a notice. At that point, they will send your case to the embassy.

From the NVC info paper:

WHEN WILL I GET AN INTERVIEW? There will likely be several weeks between becoming “documentarily qualified” and receiving a visa interview appointment. NVC schedules interviews on a monthly basis. We receive each embassy’s list of available appointment dates and times, and we fill them in the order that cases became documentarily qualified, as long as there is an available visa number. (There is a maximum number of visas the U.S. can approve each year in some visa categories, so there may be a delay between completing your application and being eligible for an interview if you are in one of these categories.) Since we work only one month at a time, we cannot predict when a case will be scheduled. We suggest waiting at least 90 days from notice that your case is documentarily qualified before calling.

The above applies to all visas that require NVC processing which I believe are all immigrant visas.

You are CR1/IR1 so there is no limited visa number. spouse of US Citizen visa numbers are always immediate.

But processing at NVC is on monthly basis and goes first come first serve based on the number of available interview spots reported to NVC by the embassy.

It is. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

We got Abu Dhabi embassy. I pray there will be long wait, just as for Doha. But there's no nonstop flight from Iraq so I'm a bit jealous that you guys got Doha :)

LOL. Why your case not transfered to Doha? I thought all cases from US embassy in Iraq transfered to Doha

no, they're transferred to Ankara, Abu Dhabi, and Doha.

You are the only I know with Doha here on VJ, and there are two who got Ankara.

Reading lot of discussion about if the immigration is able to work from home amid coronavirus. Found this article https://federalnewsnetwork.com/workforce/2020/03/uscis-to-launch-nationwide-telework-program-amid-coronavirus-spread/

This is good news. I was afraid that they would just completely stop what they were doing. Thanks for sharing.

Its good news.....unfortunately I just read that American Airlines are canceling all flights to Brazil. Obviously United and Delta still are running, but now im worried they'll follow and cancel flights also. We were hoping to hear from NVC this week and get and interview next month. This is so nerve recking, especially since we're all almost at the finish line. 😔

I am new here, but I think everyone would appreciate knowing that NVC is still working. I submitted documents for my mom’s case on January 15 and got the QD email this morning.

Congrats! I am certain that the NVC will be able to work remotely like the USCIS until the virus blows over. It's called the consular electronic application center (CEAC) afterall...
