Good question needa an answer im waiting on my DQ & i was wondering can i expedite for an interview after DQ

anyone who knows please help ???

Nobody knows, or at least too early to know, as it is really the first time such a global event occurs.

Most of the world is about to be put on pause :(

Let's hope, not too many officers at NVC and in the Embassies get the virus. I'm pretty sure, they all share open spaces... not ideal for them.

Let's not focus on the negative aspects. Let's hope for the best. 🙏

USCIS - FILING FOR I-751 (CR1)

May 21st 2022 : package sent (with Fedex / Delivered on May 23rd)

May 27th 2022: case received with Receipt # (NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER)

May 31st 2022: NOA received. I-797 (24months extension)

June 11th 2022: NOA for a Biometrics appointment (set for June 30th - need to reschedule it - not in the US on that day! 😱)

June 14th 2022: walk in at the Center - all went well. Biometrics done!

December 8th 2022: Received a Notice of Action. I-751 APPROVED! 🎉

December 10th 2022: New GreenCard received in the mail 🥳

I've been wondering for the past few days if they'll be able to 'work from home'.

Me too. Would be great 😉

They don't have anything to scan, everything is already in their machines, ready to be checked...

Let's hope so.

Quick question  due to the virUs situation around the world?

are they going to start canceling the interview appointments?

I think the answer to this is yes. India has already started cancelling interviews.

https://in.usembassy.gov/alert-cancelling-of-immigrant-and-nonimmigrant-visa-appointments/

I also think that with many companies asking employees to work from home / self quarantine, it’s possible we may start to see another slow down at the NVC

This would not be a basis for expedite since everyone is going through the same thing.

Me too. That would be really wonderful.

What crazy times!

I received an email today from the embassy in Brazil and they just listed specific precautions but did not report that they were closing/slowing. So that's good. Could all change tomorrow though...

You're obviously welcome to try and expedite but I will point out the obvious and say everyone else is in the same position as you on this. If they expedite one person due to the coronavirus, then everyone is also technically entitled to it and the floodgates will open. So they will probably have a hard no stance to make sure they don't get a flood of expedite requests they can't handle.

Usually data like this is only accessible to employees on site. If all their workers were able to access it from machines outside of the building they worked, some of our most personal data that can be used to ruin our lives in home countries and elsewhere is easily accessible to malicious people. And imagine all the lawsuits against the government from that... At best, supervisors will be the only ones that might be with some type of remote access. Anything else is hugely incompetent data security.

Obviously don't mean to rain on anybody's wishful thinking or anything either. But I also don't want the rumor mill to start up cause no one has questioned either of these hopes, cause I'm in the same boat and would like to hope for these things too.

You make total sense (I was dreaming ;-). Thanks.

It is not incorrect. They will always assess whether or not someone is likely to be a public charge (form or not) and some consulates are already asking for the form whether you were DQ before Feb 24 or not. They do not always ask for the form though (they’re never required to look at anything you bring) and it is still in the best practice of everyone to fill it out in the case it is asked for at the interview, as it’s better to have and not need than need and not have. Always be under the assumption that they will ask

Thats correct that its better to have and not need than to not have it. Thats why i did it in the first place. It was incorrect that they cant proceed with the interview without that form as you dont know that for sure.

Reading lot of discussion about if the immigration is able to work from home amid coronavirus. Found this article https://federalnewsnetwork.com/workforce/2020/03/uscis-to-launch-nationwide-telework-program-amid-coronavirus-spread/

I got a mail from NVC that they're reviewing my request for expedited processing. I'm trying to add 2019 Transcripts and W2s under additional documents but it's not allowing me to. Am I not able to add after submission?

True, it is wishful thinking. There is likely to be some sort of impact, as is the case with everything else these days.

This all depends on your embassy's backlog. Family-Based immigration visa interviews are always prioritized, but you can't jump the line and skip those people who already have their interview scheduled. You should search people on VisaJourney with a similar timeline and see how long on average it takes for them to receive their interview letter after case completed or DQ. For myself, i expect to wait anywhere between 30-45 days to get my Interview Letter. The official website says not to contact the NVC until after 90 days after you've been DQ'ed to inquire about your IL.

I sent Email to US embassy in Doha, they responded to me still my wife case not received. How long take to NVC send the case to US embassy?

The interview notice usually comes from NVC I believe. Depending on the backlog of the embassy. How long ago since you received DQ?

EDIT: sorry just checked your timeline and it seems that you haven't received DQ from NVC yet. The embassy won't receive the case until NVC gives you the DQ.
