Totally OT maybe but this week some submissions from Jan 9 got DQ’d, one from the 15th... uh I hope they really are that far in this week that they’re working on dates 15 and upwards and if not, this is wracking my brain how their review process works at NVC!! >.<

Is there anyone who submitted from 9–15 who HASN’T gotten their DQ yet???

Jan 14th here still waiting

Your documents were submitted 1/8? or accepted? If they were accepted on 1/8, you would have probably gotten an IL by now, right?

1/8 was first review the only thing was missing is divorce documents everything else was accepted.

03/11 second review police certificate was rejected but they never mentioned anything about it on first review 🤯

Hi all am trying to figure out how long does it take for NVC to contact a person after i130 has been approved?

ahh I see. ughh, i'm sorry!

What did NVC say is the problem with the police certificate you uploaded? Does it have anything to do with it expiring since the first upload? I'm curious, because my husband's police certificate is valid for 3 months (Algeria, is it the same in Morocco?) and wondered what would happen if the police certificate expires while documents are under review with NVC.

For us, it was just about a month (from USCIS I-130 approval), before we heard from NVC with a case#

If Im not mistaken the NVC website says police records are good for 1 year, even if they are dated for 3 months only......as I said "If I'm not mistaken"......can someone confirm my understanding?

Ohh, I think you might be right, yes!

I just looked here:

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-5-collect-financial-evidence-and-other-supporting-documents/step-7-collect-civil-documents.html

It states:

Important: Police certificates expire after one year, unless the certificate was issued from your country of previous residence and you have not returned there since the police certificate was issued. If at the time of your interview the following three items are all true, you must bring a new police certificate to your visa interview:

Yes, that is a good idea. There are no rules in terms of delays. Some couple get treated faster and some longer.

(In my case, it was right in the middle of Christmas and NewYear Eve holidays, probably why it took much longer than others).

Take care :)

We need to get clearance from the court in addition to police report,

Make sure to check Algeria documents requirements.

Good luck 😊
