7-9 weeks is typical. And yes, it's very hard.

7-9 weeks for them to approve Civil Docs. and support documents?  I literally do not understand all of this...(Frustrated) It’s literally basic paperwork that Has gone through an Government agency already( IE: tax transcripts, W2s, and background and criminal checks) if all the required documents have been verified and completed through the governing officials, what the heck is  NVC personnel doing duplicating what’s already been done? Wasting time and delayed nonsense.....I don’t see any benefit in all this process besides money being taken for paperwork. Ugh the Irony!!!

For anyone filling out the DS-5540, how did you answer number 12 on page 3? "If you or your family requested or received a public benefit, were you or your family members exempt from public charge during that period?"

I'm afraid to leave it blank because I don't want NVC to say it's incomplete and then get an RFE but if I say no, it means that my husband wasn't exempt from public charge and if I answer yes it means my husband did request a public benefit. I'm so confused :(

Anything that does not apply to you, you put N/A (meaning "not applicable"). That is what my lawyer adviced me. Don't leave blanks.

I'm also curious about this.

I am also wondering if you all think it's fine to hand write your answers in so for questions like this we could write, not applicable.🤔

I have note sent mine yet, but it's all in hand writing (I tried to do it an electronic version, but weirdly on this document it did not work).

As for the "not applicable" mention, I did put N/A almost everywhere LOL. My lawyer advices not to let any blanks.

Congrats to all who are getting DQ'ed.

To be honest seeing all these people getting DQ with submission dates after mine makes me feel like the fat kid being picked last for basketball 😂

Hahahahaha ! Yes for sure. We know now there are no rules. Literally. 🤔

Still in AP since my interview in Wednesday ..

I really starting  to worry now 😕

I´ve read in other discussio groups that this is normal. It´s only been two days. Give it one week and then start worrying :)

So you gonna upload at ceac? Didn't they put you back if you upload now?

Hey YasArr,

The doc is not ready, I am waiting for the Insurance company to send me the papers.

Also have you seen the earlier message today on this discussion? (from Kani2015 who has called NVC)

As for the back at the bottom of the pile risk, we all know now that there are no rules at NVC. Some people get DQ few days after they resubmitte new documents. So we really don't know what is best to be done.

Personally, I am going to wait before I upload anything new.

Take care,

Alix
