Question : I had my interview this morning and from “ready” I am now in “administrative processing” but the consular officer told me that I was approved ..

is it normal ?

Totally normal, all cases go through administrative processing just to finish everything up before approving and issuing the visa, so don’t worry!!

Okay Guys,

About the DS5540 putting us back at the bottom of the pile. Yes or No?

I have asked my lawyer, who has talked to the other lawyers of his firm and to NVC about it.

And here is his answer : the pile will not change. After we file the form + proof that we are well intending to take a Health Coverage, we remain in the queue.

Let's hope he is right. I'll take the risk... we'll see. Anyway, for now, I have sent everything on Feb 3rd, so just a month ago, and my DS5540 is still not ready to be uploaded (I'm waiting for the Insurance Company to send me the quote and all).

Take care all,

Alix

NVC told me when I got my RFE unfortunately if you submit a new document it goes to the bottom of the pile ☹️

Thank you !!!
no, he didn’t asked for it but told me at the end of the interview to have an insurance at the time I will go at the POE because they gonna maybe ask for proof that I have one .
POR is Port Of Entry ( the airport you gonna fly to in US , with your visa 😀

Thank you! I'm too worried about this public charge thing because my wife is currently unemployed after graduating from school.

I wish you two the best and a happy future!

My dear VJ family ,

it’s with a lot of pleasure that I announce I have been APPROVED !!!!!!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉

visa  interview this morning in Paris embassy 🙂

Everything  went smooth

a lot of questions , and they let  my husband come in as he is usc and asked him questions .

No  questions about DS540 but officer told that it can happen at the POE and to bring proof  of health insurance during the travel just in case if the officer at the POE ask for it .

finally , it happened !!

Congratulations 🎉

Yes, but we are not uploading that new form DS5540 because we got an RFE.

We are uploading it because the administration is evolving... we'll see. I hope you are wrong on this one Lily 😉

Hi I am a bit confused. I was born in the Netherlands, then moved to Norway for 3 years, then dubai for 10 months and then back in the Netherlands. I know I need the Police certificate for Norway and the Netherlands, but I do need it for Dubai as well?

Thanks!

Yes I know but when I asked them they told me they always go by the last date of submission, though I hope that they don’t take extra time for you though, better safe than sorry either way

I know. I will ask again my lawyer since he told me he called NVC about it.

Arfffff!

When we add documents (for RFE or else), does the date of submission change on the website?

Anyway, we have all seen how files are treated differently...

I asked this in another post. I'm still confused about DS-5540 and wondering if anyone can help. In the assets table, can my wife (the applicant) include my assets (US citizen) in there? We're both young and in her country, a young person does not have very much asset. I'm fortunate enough to save some amount over the years. Can I include my assets on this form, as I think what I have is also available to her?

Given she’s your wife, one would hope you would liquidate your assets and make them available to her in the event of a medical emergency.. so I would say yes to this, and list both hers and your assets under this section.

It is best to re upload all pages even the blank ones so it is not editable. otherwise they might reject it.

Ooops... I did the same thing.  Once you have uploaded your I-864 and submitted it, is there away to go back, delete it, and upload a scanned version?

I don’t know 100% for sure... but if I’m not mistaken, I believe it’s “household assets” which would mean both. That is what I am hoping / how I am understanding it anyways..
