That means yours is still scheduled and not cancelled?

I don't know. We'll try contacting them when it's time to make travel arrangements. The situation changes fast with this virus.

Can you provide the source? I know they announced today that they are considering this, but I can't find anything stating that they have decided to do so.

it was rumor news I guess.

Mnuchin, on Tuesday, also announced that the Treasury Department would not extend the deadline to file taxes by the April 15 deadline, as much of the tax filing can be done online.

@geowrian

KEY POINTS
  • Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said on Tuesday that taxpayers can delay paying their income taxes on as much as $1 million in taxes owed for up to 90 days.
  • Ordinarily, individual income taxpayers must submit their 2019 tax returns by April 15. This delay would push the due date for taxes to July 15.
  • This relief is for federal returns. Double-check your state's tax deadlines to see if there are any delays

Looks like a yes and no.

The actual filing deadline is unchanged. The failure to file and failure to pay penalties will not be accrued for the first 90 days, though.

At least that's my reading of it.

In terms of immigration, it would still be due by the original tax day, as they go when it's supposed to be filed, not fees/penalties.

Quote

On Tuesday, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin announced during a White House briefing that the IRS will waive interest and penalty charges for 90 days for Americans who owe up to $1 million in taxes. He encouraged Americans to still file their taxes by April 15; it's unclear at this time whether the IRS will officially extend that filing deadline as well.

How long take for approved case to be sent to the embassy?

Which country is the application for? A number of embassies are cancelling immigrant and non immigrant visa interview appointments. Even if the embassy for your country is open things are just too unpredictable and fluid right now to predict anything.
