Has anybody here gotten to the embassy stage yet?  Or are we all still stuck at NVC? Just curious

Our case has been ready since June 15. We were "in transit" for like 2 months. So we're stuck at the embassy. Paid the visa fee, finished the DS-160, I requested an expedited interview (sent the email tonight, hopefully good news to follow🤞🏼), but still need to do the medical yet.

Anyone got luck with an expedited interview? Or done their medicals yet?

Expedited cases will depend on an emergency. Being delayed is not considered one of them. But....

Anyone can ask for their case to be expedited but must follow certain criteria. https://www.uscis.gov/forms/expedite-criteria  If accepted or denied neither have an impact on any other process toward a visa.

  1. For USCIS refer to https://www.uscis.gov/forms/forms-information/how-make-expedite-request
  2. For NVC they expedite K-1 visas already.
  3. For Embassies; An expedited request requires you to contact them either through email or a phone call. Most embassy don't grant expedited visas but only in the case of an emergency. Check with your embassy for additional details.

Chapter 5 - Requests to Expedite Applications or Petitions

Benefit requestors may request USCIS to expedite the adjudication of their applications or petitions. USCIS considers all expedite requests on a case-by-case basis and generally requires documentation to support such requests. The decision to grant or deny an expedite request is within the sole discretion of USCIS.

Also, there is a sub-forum for the Philippines here on VJ that you should be a part of. It's a good place to read what others are experiencing which will only prepare you for your interview.

Yes, the reason is for medical purposes, not being delayed.

I have been following the Philippines forum closely for a few months now, even got updates sent to my email 😅 that forum is helpful, thank you.

In this case I am the petitioner’s father   We’ve recently succeeded but under circumstances that are not typical.  Nevertheless, wanted to share this in case any of you are in similarly circumstances.  The fiancée beneficiary is a licensed registered nurse.  As a medical professional, she was able to get an appointment under an exception to the Presidential Proclamations.  The process worked very differently, as she did not receive the standard P3.  Instead, after being alerted to her nursing license and receiving the file from NVC, the consulate sent her an appointment letter, with instructions to bring with her most of the documents usually requested by the P3.  She was told not to go for medical exam until AFTER the interview.  The case was placed in administrative review until the medical exam results were submitted, and then the visa was issued quickly after that.  She entered the USA on September 8.  I realize not many fit this situation, but wanted to share this in case any of your beneficiaries are medical professionals and did not realize this was possible.  Good luck to all.

Now I'm a little confused. Checked the CEAC site and we went from In transit to READY! This is great but we haven't gotten any communication at all as far as a package, email or notice to pay any fees. We don't even have the NVC invoice number yet. Is this normal?

Have some patience. Things take time. Everything you have experienced is normal except the longer wait time because of the pandemic. Did you study the PDF as I address this issue there.

Still no word on the expedited interview request (petitioner medical reason), it’s been over a month. No approval or denial, just nothing 😅

Not getting my hopes up on it, but I pray all will work out.

Case ready since June 15th

Just wanted to Give an Update here.

I just checked the CEAC and I got my second ready. My first Ready was April 30th and now it says September 15th! (I am waiting for an interview at Montreal)

Just wanted to update and I guess I will be keeping an eye out for my P3 sometime in the next few weeks!

I hope change come soon for you! I will let everyone know how this goes. I am not expecting a P3 anytime soon, I'm not sure how long it took under normal circumstances, but I will keep everyone updated. :)

If you read the PDF document closely you would see that I state that you just need to ask me for your P3 as I have most of the embassies. There are other goodies in the PDF that will help you. Get a copy from the first post on the first page of this thread.

Here is what I have on the preparation for your interview at the US Embassy Canada:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xuzyYZLAI9rdJwle3gSkv4123GTsmF59/view?usp=sharing

If you find anything not up to date or the information is wrong, please share your findings. Please compare the date of the P3 of mine with the date from your copy, once you receive yours from your embassy. Keep in mind that I try and be factual with my information, but I can't do it on my own and that's where you come in and can give back to the community those who come behind you. Without others ahead of you I would not be able to provide this to you.
