We’re K-1 applicants, waiting on NVC to transmit package to Frankfurt. Have case number.  Frankfurt consular instructions say “Upon receipt of this letter [P3], you may start your visa application and submit required forms.”  We have the D-160 ready, but does this instruction mean we should wait until the package is sent by NVC to Frankfurt before actually submitting it?  Also, Greenbaum, do you have the German P3?  Is it anything more than what’s here:  https://de.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/21/Instructions-for-IV-and-K-Visa-Applicants.pdf ?  One more thing, and we’ll ask this in German sub-forum also.  Anybody know if in Germany one must wait until embassy appointment is scheduled before getting medical exam?  This line from the above checklist seems to indicate we must wait:  “In addition to your travel document and appointment confirmation you must now also bring a print out of your CEAC (DS-260/DS-160) confirmation page with you to the medical examination!”

If you submit this early and there are changes then you will have problem resurrecting your "old" submission to add the "new" information. Closer to the interview would be better, your choice.

Also, Greenbaum, do you have the German P3?  Is it anything more than what’s here:  https://de.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/21/Instructions-for-IV-and-K-Visa-Applicants.pdf?  I have the same, but I have additional information that I will post below.

One more thing, and we’ll ask this in German sub-forum also.  Anybody know if in Germany one must wait until embassy appointment is scheduled before getting medical exam?  That would be a question for the sub-forum and from your medical exam firm. It looks like they are requiring is the confirmation page from your DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application and your interview scheduling confirmation. So, reading into that I would say yes but check with other German applicants to verify.

This line from the above checklist seems to indicate we must wait:  “In addition to your travel document and appointment confirmation you must now also bring a print out of your CEAC (DS-260/DS-160) confirmation page with you to the medical examination!”

Sub-Forum for your area:

https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/95-europe-amp-eurasia-except-the-uk-and-russia/NOTE: The I-134 requires a "wet" signature. They will send you the P3 through the mail. There are some documents that need to be completed which you will return and then your interview is assigned.

If you find anything not up to date or the information is wrong, please share your findings. Please compare the date of the P3 of mine with the date from your copy, once you receive yours from your embassy. Keep in mind that I try and be factual with my information, but I can't do it on my own and that's where you come in and can give back to the community those who come behind you. Without others ahead of you I would not be able to provide this to you.  I can only share factual information if folks like you continue to be my eyes and ears for your embassy. I wish you much success in your visa journey.

After submitting my DS160 I believe I may have made a mistake in a date, and this is probably because I’m honestly too anxious about it and I’m overthinking it, but should i submit a new one, or leave it?

Would it be a problem if i submitted two forms, and could the officer see it?
I haven’t paid for my interview appointment yet, and i still have to enter the DS160 code in the system to pay the fee. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

First, you can reopen a submitted DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application. Go to the instruction page and it will have what is required.

Second, you could wait for the interview and let the CO know and they can change it.

And thirdly, you can create a new DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application BUT only bring the confirmation page from the corrected toDS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application to the interview. The CO cannot see the one with the mistake(s) without the confirmation number from any submitted DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application.

Hopefully our app ships today from NVC! It's been quiet for too long.

Don't hold your breath as things haven't changed since the last shipment date. There wasn't a shipment then and the embassies are still closed so it's doubtful that anything will go out today. Continue with your hope and soon we can see some activity as things start to open. The best place now to be connected is your embassies website for their directions. Good luck and stay engaged.

I can only speak for the embassy in Stockholm, but this is a snippit from my communication with them:

Once we can resume visa services, NVC will ship the case to post. Upon receipt, we will email you a checklist that informs applicant of the next step in the process.

So NVC isn't shipping to the embassy until it reopens.

Hi! My fiance is from Malawi. His case status is currently "ready for interview" at the embassy there. I submitted the DS 160 in April. We haven't heard anything from the embassy, but we know that embassies are not conducting interviews at this time. I want to be ready with everything when they reopen.

1. Do I need to pay a fee online at the CEAC website under the immigrant category? I don't have an "Invoice ID Number from the NVC" to proceed.

2. Did I fill out the wrong form - was I supposed to fill out the DS 260? I'm finding mixed information.

3. Do I need to contact the embassy now?

1. Do I need to pay a fee online at the CEAC website under the immigrant category? I don't have an "Invoice ID Number from the NVC" to proceed.  You pay the fee at https://ustraveldocs.com/ you can use either the NVC case number or your WAC#.

2. Did I fill out the wrong form - was I supposed to fill out the DS 260? I'm finding mixed information. You are to fill out the DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application and not the ds-260. The 260 is for immigrant visa travelers and you are a non-immigrant.

3. Do I need to contact the embassy now? Why do you need to contact the embassy?

I hope this information helps. Post any additional questions you may have. There is a PDF file with most of this answered for you. Download a copy and use as a reference. Anything that isn't clear let us know and we will help you. Good luck and stay engaged.
