When to expect EAD after RFIE

I got a request for initial evidence a week ago. They were asking me to send additional evidence about my husbands pay. I responded to it today.

Right now I don’t care too much about how long the green card or AP takes. I have a job offer on the line - due to start end of August and the employer is kind enough to put me on hold for the position. So I need to have a general idea of how long I’d be expected to wait to receive EAD after they receive the evidence. Does anybody here know? More recent experiences would be so helpful. My case is at the National Benefits Center in MO and I already had biometrics done last month.

Thanks!

If you have a job offer in writing you could try expediting your EAD. I believe you have to call USCIS and tell them you want to expedite.

I thought about it but I don’t think I can fall into the right category. Severe financial loss doesn’t apply to me because if my employer has to wait longer than May, they could just as easily find someone else (I’m a teacher). All I have is a job offer.

It's really hard to figure out how EAD is processed at the NBC... some people really fast, others not.  We filed in September, had a RFIE in November, responded very promptly, and are waiting.

USCIS official processing times for EAD are 6-8 months right now.  VJ statistics show something nearer 4.5 months but not sure how much that is skewed by expedites.

Bottom line I think you are looking at something like 4-6/7 months from filing the I-765, probably.  Some are quicker, some not...
