This might be a broad question but what kind of evidence does USCIS often ask for if RFE? I’m leaving the US on Friday to stay over a month with my fiancé and worried I may have to respond from outside the US. I read something about biometrics - is that or anything else I can’t just print and mail ever required of the petitioner?

Biometrics is not normally something they ask the petitioner to do. Most cases it's a rare request so I wouldn't concern yourself with that issue. If you do get an RFE you can call USCIS and ask for a tier two agent who has access to the RFE and if you ask them kindly, they will fax you a copy. Just tell them you are out of the country and will not be home to receive the mailed copy.

There is an old list in spreadsheet format that outlines those who had received and the reason for their RFE. It will answer, even though the information is old, it's still true today.

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Country and Visa Type: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RyJiLo_7WTmqvkzXXqLuOlVHm9oyhAES/view?usp=sharing

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

Are you getting any progress with the ombudsman? I hope we bothget our NOA2 soon. I wonder how many march filers are still waiting. It feels as if most got a response already outside of our normal processing time. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.

The CSC processing times for the Form I-129F with a receipt date of March 03, 2020 or earlier. The processing of your Form I-129F is within our current processing time.

No no progress yet. USCIS did call me today for some odd reason I think because of a direct letter I sent in 2 weeks ago. The representative said to keep waiting. I said its been 9 months 5 days what can be done. Just keep waiting

Those of you waiting for your NOA 2 after responding to a RFE... Are you feeling anxious?  Today is day 41 since our RFE Response was received. I know it is a waiting game but like everyone, we are excited to move on with our lives. Truly praying for NOA 2 before Christmas. Oh what a great Christmas present that would be!

They publish that they have up to 12 weeks to reply to an RFE. Sometimes it sooner and sometimes it's longer.

The USCIS has issued a Ruling, effective April 17, 2007, that gives adjudicators flexibility in determining the length of time a petitioner or applicant has to respond to a Request for Evidence (RFE) or a Notice of Intent to Deny (NOID). Currently, the standard deadline for response to an RFE is twelve weeks (84 days). NOIDs must be responded to within thirty days. Under this regulation, the USCIS will determine how much time should be permitted in any given case, with maximum possible time being what is now the standard response deadline. That is, adjudicators will set deadlines for both RFEs and NOIDs that could be up to twelve weeks in case of RFEs or up to thirty days for NOIDs. No extensions of time are permitted.
