I don’t like seeing these kinds of replies. For all this it’s better to not even submit an inquiry if they cannot even give a direct answer

The way I see it is that no one has been assigned to my case yet, so they can't give me a timeline. It is very disheartening, but it brings down my expectations as to when I'll be getting my NOA2. It's definitely not the answer I wanted, but it's all I got right now.

Received this response today (Nov 5) from USCIS after submitting a case inquiry on Oct 24 for our case being outside normal processing time. Our NOA1 is March 25. Frustrating but hoping to hear a case decision soon.

They can't give direct answer the reason being is you will be disappointed if that date comes and goes without your approval. USICS is vague on purpose. They are dealing in facts and you are dealing with your emotion. Big difference. The process works, you just need to give it time to unfold. Of course, none of this you want to hear but, it is what it is.

Can I share somethings with you that I learned long ago about this process?

    • "the man with the gold makes the rules"
    • it will take as long as it will take
    • no one with any certainty can tell you when some process will be completed
    • Your sense of urgency will never be equaled to what USCIS, NVC or your embassy demonstrates
    • Your journey is not going to mirror someone else's experience - yours and theirs are not the same
    • They only promised you a YES or NO answer. Never an exact time that their decision would be completed
    • Lowering your expectations will make you a much more relaxed individual

Good luck on your journey

I have my own opinions about this. I feel like it’s just pure laziness. I have deadlines at work that must be met as well and of course i need to have an explanation of why it isn’t being met. I cannot give anyone vague responses and I don’t believe uscis should be any different. Simply saying “you just need to wait” is not acceptable atleast say what the problem is. I know this isn’t your vault or anyone else’s, but it is frustrating that this is happening with no word to anyone except delays of covid.
