Update for case inquiry waiters like us:

Over 8 months ago we began this process, no response.

Case inquiry filed a month ago.

Today call to USCIS = sorry keep waiting or do new inquiry.

After 240 days waiting, were not doing a new inquiry. Do your job on the first one.

You never received an inquiry response that you filed?

Can I share somethings with you that I learned long ago about this process?

    • "the man with the gold makes the rules"
    • it will take as long as it will take
    • no one with any certainty can tell you when some process will be completed
    • Your sense of urgency will never be equaled to what USCIS, NVC or your embassy demonstrates
    • Your journey is not going to mirror someone else's experience - yours and theirs are not the same
    • They only promised you a YES or NO answer. Never an exact time that their decision would be completed
    • Lowering your expectations will make you a much more relaxed individual

Good luck on your journey

Count your blessings:

KBA Canada Over 400 days

You do nothing to move your case from NVC to your embassy.  Yes, there us a point where you will wait.  I'm not sure this answered your question as I was sure of the information you are after.

What I meant is , visajourney has NVC processing time currently listed as 99 days, but my guess is this is an average because of the consulates that are not issuing K1 visas. My question is , if a consulate in a particular country does process K1s at the moment , would we “skip” that long processing time , or is our case shipped to the embassy after everyone else who’s waiting (and their corresponding consulate is currently not processing K1’s).

VJ timelines are based on those who complete and keep up with a timeline. So many don't but those who do are the better for it. I don't put a lot of weight in the processing times here on VJ except those that are using the same embassy as I. Just an opinion.

Your case will travel on it's own and the only thing that will slow it is when NVC will send it. After it arrives at the embassy, most applicants can control how fast they will process to an interview and when they receive their visa. No waiting for others at the embassy stop off.

noa1 03/16/2020

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

We sent an email to USCIS on 16th Oct regarding outside normal processing time and received the reply on 27th Oct.

We got the same reply On Friday I believe. Got our approval yesterday. So this email means exactly what it means - your case is currently being looked at.
