Its almost a month since our inquiry,  233 days waiting Mar 3rd noa1. USCIS says 5-7 months processing times and if pass you can do an inquiry. I get every case is different and all that but you would think priority goes to those waiting by case number. Were thousands and thousands of cases ahead of some being looked at.

Side note-Ecstatic for all those  approvals recently, congrats!

Just received this as a response about our case inquiry. Is this normal given the current situation?

Yes, that very much so is the situation with thousands who stand waiting. Good luck and stay engaged.

What I mean is, there's no point in me collating evidence until the end of the day in California... as some could be added after I've run the report if I do it now.

I also live on East Coast time. 😅

What does that even mean? It’s so vague, so when are you supposed to head an answer?

I got this same message and 2 days later was approved. I’m guessing it’s an automated type of message. Hope you get a decision soon.

Well, if there's anyone else left in this thread for March filers, here's the update from our inquiry.

We're listed as filed on 03/06.

Our NOA1 on the mailed receipt is listed as 03/11.

Our lawyer submitted the inquiry for us on 10/07 and received a response on 10/20.

"Your case is currently delayed because the required security checks are still pending. We cannot make a decision on your case until we receive the results of these security checks."

While this is mildly alarming because neither of us can fathom what in our lives could hold up a security check, we're hoping this is just par for the course and that whoever is working on fact-gathering finds overwhelming evidence that our lives are actually the rom-com they want to see; and that they should let it play out because the happy ending will be worth it.

We wish everyone luck as we hope for our own!

It may not be your personal background that is influencing your delayed NOA2. With countries that are using updated data sharing technologies and have a working relationship to share information on their citizens are more apt to move background checks quicker than those who do not use current technology to respond to a background check with the US. I think it's more the later than you personally.

If you go to the first page first post use that link and it will give you further knowledge as to what goes into background checks and why it sometimes takes longer for each individual than others.
