Thank you for sharing your estimations! It really is all up in the air right now and so much of it is outside of our control. My concern is that we'll be held up each step of the way due to backlogs at the NVC then at the consulates. I'm blessed to have been able to be with my fiance in Australia this whole time but with my visa expiring in mid November we're in a bit of a quandary of how to move forward. Do we pay ~$8000 AUD for an Australian partner visa so we can stay together (what if the K1 train moves quickly?) or do we take the leap of faith with me going home and with my fiance waiting for an unknown amount of time?

Like @SydneyfMaghrib wrote we're trying to take the unexpected into account which could potentially be a really long wait. All we can do is keep March-ing forward and do what @Greenbaum has been wisely guiding us to do, which is to lower our expectations and strive to "go with the flow" the best we can with all of our unique and challenging situations. Hope for the best but plan for the worst!

I know it’s hard for all of us when we have to be away from the people we love for so long. I just keep reminding myself that this COVID thing is out of all of our control and we have to make the best of it. The way I see it is a lot of people have lost loved ones, died, lost their businesses, lost their jobs, etc. We’re still alive and healthy, we just have to wait a bit longer to get what we want. A lot of people have a lot worse, we’ve just been mildly inconvenienced but having to wait a bit longer. We’ll get there eventually and when we finally make it, it’ll be that much sweeter. I can’t stress myself out about something that’s totally out of my control. Your situation is a bit different however, figuring out what to do about the partner visa is complicated. I hope you find the right answer!

I used to hate weekdays because of work... but now I like them because I get to look forward to my case status MAYBE changing... oh how life has changed...

Haha I hear you. As long as they’re not federal holidays (though my work usually has those off, too)...

I was literally talking about this to my fiance the other day, I was saying how I don't even look forward to weekends anymore because it means definitely no change in our case.

We got an email today on 15th Oct, its the notification regarding the case inquiry we did earlier on 1st Oct. It says "45 days" to receive notice of action. Any idea as to what it suggests, is only now a case officer assigned to our application !?Screenshot_20201015-182427.thumb.jpg.4612a9bdd2613896b9d18a5b6b54b412.jpg
