Hi there, I have the same doubt. Every time I check our case on the official website it says received March 18, and also on the App tracker, but on the letter says Receipt date April 10, and I'm starting to freak out because of this. Could anybody add some light on this? Just to have a realistic idea, because its gonna be 7 months this week. Good luck and stay safe everyone!

Many in March and April are nearing their 7 months or have gone beyond. So, it's pretty much the case now that things have slowed. Can't move it along so have a little more patience. Send an inquiry once you reach 7 months.

Can you double check your receipt number to make sure that you entered correctly in the case tracker?

NOA-1: March 10th.   Filed Inquiry today.  It gives me a response date of November 4th.

I also did an inquiry today and they told me the same date! Good luck to you!

I have a question, what date is matter, when the case was received (March 18) or when the NOA sent (March 23)?

I'm an April filer but I've been following this thread to see when I can expect to hear some news. I've seen this debate pop up multiple times in multiple threads which is a bit perplexing that it gets so much attention. Receipt date is the date that they received your packet. Either the day they opened it or scanned it in the system. It may or may not correspond to the date your package was delivered which can be confirmed with your delivery receipt.

Notice date is the date your piece of paper was printed. Much like an invoice date or billing date. Most pieces of paper mailed carry this date in some form or fashion for snail mail reasons. If you received an email it is most likely sent on or after this date.

I'm sure it takes time to go through packets to:

  1. verify who you are via your cover sheet or other means
  2. find and and catalog your check
  3. catalog whatever you sent to them

There could be weekends, holidays, vacations, misplacements,  office parties or any other imaginable things that happen between the time your packet is received to the time they prepare and print your notification.

In my case:

  • Delivery Date: 4/16
  • Received Date: 4/16
  • Date on USCIS Website: 4/16
  • Notice Date: 4/20
  • Email Date: 4/21

All that to say, pick the later of the all of them and save yourself the aggravation. That way you'll either be surprised when it's earlier or slightly over when it's 5-7 months afterwards.

I'm sure it was a bit annoying to get an RFE but at least it's progress, I'm sure the approval will follow up soon!

Hello, March filers.

As you can see, there's been movement again this week. 118 new approvals for March (9 more than last week) and 72 new RFEs (one of which is mine 😅) That's movement on 190 cases in the last 7 days - compared to 150 last week. That snowball will get bigger and bigger!

I greatly appreciate you compiling the list, again :)

As for the snowball effect, as case processing moves into March, were naturally going to see more cases processed, but the cases have slowed on many dates, March 3rd for example had 164 cases processed 2 weeks ago,  the following week being last week there were only 30 cases processed for March 3rd, that's less than 20% from the week before.. If that's a snowball, it melted down to the size of an ice cube.

Almost... There are only 2 weeks of progressive data. The start week was from 'that moment'... for the 7 months up to that point, that was how many cases were seen. That could've been spread over many, many weeks... so you'd need more data to get a better idea of the increase/decrease in movement.

Hello fellow Marchers, I'm on the cusp of activity (Monday March 9th) according to the chart @LoveJonLovell has so graciously compiled! I filed a USCIS Service Request because I slid out of the "due date" estimation which says that I'll expect a reply by 10/29/20.

My question to you Marchers is (based on your own research, intuition, and respective consulates) when are you all expecting your fiance to be with you on U.S. soil?

I'm thinking we still have another 6-8 months should we receive our NOA2.
