I went to the US while awaiting my NOA2. (Still waiting)

You don't have to tell anyone in advance, but you should really have return tickets, employment proof, and or anything that ties you back to your original country. I was taken aside for questioning because i was staying for like, 2 months. I just told them the truth about my visit. They asked me a bunch of questions about my fiancee and my plans.

Before they let me go though, they told me I should wait till I got my K1 visa to come again. That annoyed me a lot because I was traveling on an ESTA and I have never overstayed my visit or anything weird like that. I get that they have the ultimate say, regardless.

Thanks @jess.y I could completely relate to my experience as well. They ask too many questions and its all about giving them as much information possible. I visited my fiancé and back now and good to know there is no need to update uscis in such case. Thanks

If you have a "visa" that allows you unfettered travel to the US, then you can make your trip while your application is being adjudicated. Keep in mind that US immigration has access to many different files so state your business and be confident. Answer all questions honestly. You should not have a problem. The DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application will require knowledge of your trips to the US I believe but you do not have to contact USCIS.

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I already completed my trip to US and back now. Regarding DS-160 that is for Visitors visa right? I already have B2 visitors visa for US. Does one have to again apply for DS-160 once K1 is approved, hope not !?

Thanks for pointing out have updated my profile.

Receipt Date is March 3rd. Its been 211 days but I haven’t received NOA2.

The processing timeline online shows March 4 currently being processed for K1 at CSC.

Should I be calling the customer support centre in this case or submit request online.

Thanks for completing your profile. A DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application is required for a K-1. Create a new one and bring the confirmation to your interview.

It doesn't hurt to call, but call wait is about  an hour long. Just know, there are different officers working with a different pace and the date posted on the CSC is an estimate not exact, the cases fall around that date, I hope you get your NOA2 soon.

Once you have gone beyond 7 months you can complete an inquiry. Use the tools to help.

Calling only ties up the phones so that you have an hour wait. Why not follow USCIS request that if your case is out of the processing timeline then place and inquiry. Instructions are on the link I gave to the OP.

I agree with Mr.Greenbaum, it might even make the processes slow due to so many calls.

Same dates and same situation as I'm in ,  it's good to see that I'm not the only one, but at the same time I feel for you and everyone else who has waited this long for what amounts to a simple background check.

After submitting the inquiry, how long until you receive a response?.. Since I'm only 30 min away from the USCIS California center,  I'm considering making an appointment as well.

They don't allow appointments. You must make an infopass appointment with your assigned USCIS office. Usually a reply is completed in two weeks.
